Shooting leaves 8 dead in Texas, police say

PLANO, TEXAS -- Police say eight people, including the suspect, were shot to death at a home in Plano, Texas, Sunday evening, CBS Dallas / Fort Worth reports.
Police say the incident happened at a home in a neighborhood on West Spring Creek Parkway.
Plano Police PIO David Tilley says officers responded to the residence just after 8 p.m. local time after gunshots were reportedly heard.
According to police, an officer also fatally shot the suspect in the deadly shooting.

What really bugs me about this story is CBS buried it, 2/3rds of the way down the page.

But, when it's everyday, yeah, a person gets to a point where you just shake your head...

(13,033 posts)Here's an updated article - 7 dead, 2 critically wounded. The home is very near my office location and Plano is one of the most affluent cities in the country. All the more puzzling this happened there.

gun violence you will see. More guns = more shootings. The idea that
by owning a gun you are protecting yourself or your family is pure
nonsense if you look @ the stats.
BTW the NRA with their boot licks in congress have for years blocked the
release of gun shooting stats vs the # of guns in a given population studies.
BTW I have hunted and owned guns for years too.

Can you recommend one or two good sites that have comprehensive info for the general public on Houston and perhaps other affected areas of Texas? Perhaps an information clearing house?
