ALLEN PARK -- The Detroit Lions say a fan accused of posting a racist message on social media has relinquished his season tickets.
According to the team, Lions president Rod Wood is expected to reach out personally to the two fans who said they were targets of racist vitriol when they decided to sit for the national anthem before Sunday's season opener against the Cardinals.
"Providing our fans with a safe and enjoyable experience at all Ford Field events is of the utmost importance and an absolute priority for our organization," the team said Wednesday. "A core component of our guest conduct policy is the expectation that all fans are respectful and considerate to each other regardless of their personal beliefs or differences."
WXYZ-TV in Detroit reports one of the fans targeted by the post is Stacey Graham, a Lions season-ticket holder. Graham told the station she has sat out the anthem since last year because of the third verse of the song, which mentions slavery.

Good! I'm glad that there are fewer places for these racist deplorables to hide these days. He probably posted that thinking he'd be immune. Now his life and his business are in the crapper because of his racist imbecility. It's just too bad we're one of the few Western nations without rigorous hate speech laws on the books. Otherwise, he'd be facing a stiff and well-deserved jail term as well.

I still remember the look of bewilderment that spread over the face of a Nugent fan when I told him how ol' Ped got out of serving in Vietnam*. Oops, the RW propaganda machine forgot to inform my friend of that piece of Nugent's past.
*See: Ped's High Times interview. Hint: involves draft dodging via defecating in your pants for a week, then strolling on down to the local enlistment office.
