In a discussion about race relations in the United States, MSNBCs Chuck Todd tried to claim that former President Barack Obamas Attorney General Eric Holder is exactly the same as President Donald Trumps Attorney General Jeff Sessions.
Alfonso Aguilar of Latino Partnership for Conservative Principles began the panel by saying that Trump missed the opportunity to bring the country together around race, but then accused Obama of missing the same opportunity.
I would agree with the president that you have people on both sides of the left and the right trying to use racial confrontation to mobilize their base, Aguilar said, repeating Trumps criticized both sides argument. I dont think clearly that Donald Trump did a good job in easing the tension, after the Charlottesville event, but I dont think President Obama did either.

I go back to something Eric Holder said, Weve never had this conversation. We talked about having this race conversation. Wed never actually have it,' Todd said citing Holder.

Incidentally, this goes hand-in-hand with both-sides-ism because the both-sides-ist must be someone who has nothing personally at stake in any political debate and therefore no biases that would prevent him from treating both sides equally. The both-sides-ist is also intellectually lazy or shallow enough to assume that all viewpoints have equal merit.

(34,661 posts)Republican mouth piece. Notice that lately, each time something goes side ways for the Republican Party,Chuckie will state something negative against the Democrats. Pretty obvious he gets his marching orders from Andy Lack and he loves the on air Talent to stir the pot without any evidence.

Todd is usually fair minded and clear. It's unclear to me what he meant by comparing Holder to Sessions, if that's what he did.
Stallion
(6,642 posts)part of the context was that white people don't understand the fear of being pulled over on the side of the road by a police officer for no reason and liberals may not understand the perspective that police officers face every day in doing their job

It's time he found a job appropriate for his skills.
Comparing Eric Holder to Jeff Sessions is simply unintelligent. Silly! He needs to go. NOW. Ka-Boom.

(5,042 posts)I saw that segment. Todd simply brought up something Holder once said. He never claimed he was doing the same thing as Sessions. Nor did he blame Obama for race issues.
Raw Story needs to go as a source. Half the time it's just repeating a link found elsewhere and the rest of the time it's click bait bullshit like this and using the same tactics as Drudge and Brietfart. NOW THAT is a comparison.
The sad thing is that 80 percent of this thread will now be just trashing Chuck Todd with a bunch of dittos and Yup! Yup He did that! without ever watching the segment for themselves and shitting their own credibility down the drain.
