But even when he was doing the wrong thing for the country, I've never felt that he himself didn't honestly believe that he was doing the right thing. This is unlike most other Republican elected officials these days, who are literally trying to screw the country as a "fuck you" to the majority of the people in the nation.

Is he really doing it JUST for the good of other human beings?
I don't really know. Could be.

I guess as long as he votes no I don't care why...

I've deeply disagreed with him on many, many things but I believe he has principles. Now with real illness and age looming he might also has some empathy.

Crazy times, eh?

GAF. He's had a long career and can retire with dignity. Very few
GOP Senators even know what dignity is.

You are keenly aware of your impending mortality. Some, like Dotard, think if they're going down, they can take as many as they can along with them (like the planet). Others think about their legacy. Maybe McCain, with his recent diagnosis, is putting humanity above party for once.

I am staying vigilant and do not trust any GOP rep as far as I could throw one. It isn't over until Oct 1st and the fat lady sings. I have stayed vigilant all summer since I have too much at risk (my life) to trust any of them. Please keep calling until Oct 1st, THANKS! (202)224-3121 call, call, call NON STOP!

The U.S. federal government's fiscal year begins on 1 October of the previous calendar year and ends on 30 September of the year.
Only 51% needed to change something not requiring more money. New year new budget requires 61%.
