GOP Health Push Hits More Snags

Source: WSJ

WASHINGTON—Senate Republican leaders appeared to face a nearly insurmountable path to reviving their repeal of the Affordable Care Act, after Sen. Susan Collins said she couldn’t envision voting for the bill and fellow GOP Sen. Rand Paul outlined tough demands for his support.

(snip)

Republican senators are making a last-ditch attempt to pass legislation striking much of the 2010 health law popularly known as Obamacare, under parliamentary rules that put a Saturday deadline on any such action being done with only GOP votes. Sunday night, the bill’s authors circulated changes to the legislation that experts said appeared largely designed to win over more conservative lawmakers.

The bill by Sens. Bill Cassidy of Louisiana and Lindsey Graham of South Carolina would set “block grants” of federal funding for each state to use for health care, including the Medicaid program for the poor. The revised text of the bill gives states broad authority to make changes to coverage mandated under the ACA, and they no longer must seek a waiver to roll back some of those requirements, which was in the earlier text of the bill, health analysts reviewing the new bill said.

(snip)

Mr. Paul on Sunday set a high bar for his vote, saying on NBC that the block grants that Democrats and some centrist Republicans worry are too small were still too big for his liking.

he voted no the last time because he already knew they didn't have enough votes going in to the roll call. This time? Not so much. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if he voted for it, which is why the Democrats MUST make sure this P.O.S. bill never even comes up for a vote. They're going to have to filibuster the hell out of this thing, and by doing so, go a long way in assuring a Democratic sweep in the 2018 mid-terms. Kick some elephant ass, Dems!

Facing defeat will do that party a world of good. Being thrown out of power for a couple of decades would do them even more good. Let the racketeers die off and the billionaires bankrupt themselves on lost causes.

You knew it was coming. McCain comes out with a conscience-driven no...early. Attention whore Cruz publicly begs for more $ be thrown his way for his "yes". Rand withholds a yes unless more people can be murdered. Collins' and Murkowski's States are going to get sweetened pot deals. Donors openly blackmail them all.
All within a few days of Drippingly Foul MCConnell and Lying his Brains Out of his Eyes Cassidy's 50 vote deadline.

They aren't even attempting to hide their pure evil. It's all been bared. They don't care how it looks. No pretense.
Nothing matters now involving any human traits of any inkling of decency.
Only putrid hate, vengeful bigotry, racism and hideous anti humanity. For even the Stupid to see clearly. (Not that clarity ever affects the Stupid)

And what can/will be done???
I have no fucking clue anymore.
Basically a thimble-ful of wretched stench covered men are destroying our nation in plain, open evil view.
Beyond insane.

I smell the stench of their hubris three states away, in one that needs the ACA bolstered, not destroyed.

Should be illegal to bribe Congress members to vote for a bill.
