All five living former presidents are raising money for Puerto Rico
OneAmericaAppeal.org
All five living former presidents Jimmy Carter, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama are fundraising for Puerto Rico, which was devastated by Hurricane Maria.
The One America Appeal was launched after Hurricane Harvey to give aide to the Gulf Coast. It expanded to help Irma relief efforts, and now donations can be sent to Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

(31,111 posts)pregnant, they just had a show about it on the TV.
Laci & Scott Petersen.
Here is why it was national news on a daily basis
And while the country held their breath hoping this pregnant woman would show up, women of color all over the country were missing, murdered, etc. Nary a peep about them.
Can you see the reason?
What is it about her out of thousands of missing or dead women that made her special?

(19,858 posts)she was missing. Such, a sad, sad story. So glad the scoundrel Scott is on death row
And I concur on why the media glommed onto it - they were the "All American[white]" couple of the rise.
This society has really got to get to the point where every human life - white, black, brown, yellow, purple, etc - is of value.
Unfortunately I won't see that in my lifetime. I pray my children see it in their lifetimes.

(19,858 posts)...as I said I watched the entire trial. Of course Mark Gerragos his high profile Hollywood lawyer tried to throw double on "a mysterious man in the park", but jury din't buy it. The jury was very dedicated in their deliberations, they chewed on the evidence of well over a week.

(19,858 posts)the evidence and this murder of her own daughter Caylee walked free. There was a proverbial mountain of evidence against her and that hair brain Pinellas county jury let her walk. It still hurts my hear to this day that little Caylee never got justice.
