President Trump is calling on the NFL to ban players from taking a knee during the national anthem.

"The NFL has all sorts of rules and regulations," Trump tweeted Tuesday. "The only way out for them is to set a rule that you can't kneel during our National Anthem!"

The NFL has become the target of Trump's ire in recent days, after he blasted players who kneel in protest during the national anthem, calling for them to be fired.

Scores of professional athletes and sports executives have criticized the president's comments, arguing that the protests are an exercise of free speech.

and having the teams out of the locker room before the anthem.

If the teams have to be out for the anthem, everyone else has to be in their seats. No concession runs to get the pre-game prices or anything like that.

As it is, it makes much more of an impact to fans as they're sitting down to watch the teams charge out, take their benches, and start the f'ing game while they're still "warm", instead of standing at attention for 5 - 10 minutes as flag bearers on the field wander around and the singer tries to find his/her voice and get started singing a two minute song and start screwing up their knees and hips.
