President Donald Trump still has confidence in Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, the president told Fox News Wednesday, as the White House and Congress set out to accomplish another policy goal tax reform in the wake of a failure on overhauling health care.
I do. I mean, look, I've dealt with Mitch for a long time, Trump said in an interview with Fox Newss Fox & Friends that was broadcast Thursday in response to a question about whether or not he still had confidence in McConnell (R-Ky.). Look, I really like all of these people. I think they're terrific people.
Trump and McConnell, ostensibly allies on Republicans conservative policy agenda, have clashed at times, most recently this week when the president reportedly called the majority leader weak at a Monday night dinner with conservative activists.
The Trump-McConnell feud hit its height over the summer, when the president lashed out at the majority leader on Twitter multiple times over the Senates failure to approve legislation to repeal and replace Obamacare, a bill that required the support of just 50 senators from the majority party.

Trump the world's biggest asshat. Trump is under the delusion McConnell is his employee/waterboy (not getting the separation of powers thing) and Trump does anything beyond incite racist hate and cause panic.
McConnell and lobbyists do all the work, under Koch's orders. Dotard sits on his thicc ass tweeting encouragement.
He promised Obamacare repeal "quickly" with no plan on his "campaign" in rallies before racist misfits chanting "wall wall wall!".
Then he tells McConnell - come up with a plan, do all the work, and I'll be playing golf in New Jersey - charging $200,000 for membership fees and hobnobbing with Russian mobsters.
Then he bashes him because he had "7 years to figure it out", though I recall when president-elects had "ideas" and skills they could contribute. Some semblance of direction beyond "do the opposite of Obama". Of course 0 sympathy for McConnell.

(2,845 posts)As if the president had any control over who the Senate Majority Leader is, not that their viewers know any better.
I say "viewers" when they're really propaganda consumers.
