"So mad I could spit": a former disaster relief official on Trump's response to Puerto Rico

Source: Vox

The Washington Post has a new report out breaking down the response by President Donald Trump’s administration to the ongoing crisis in Puerto Rico.

Now a former foreign disaster assistance chief under President Barack Obama, who said he was trying “to be balanced” regarding Trump’s handling of the situation because he knows “how hard this stuff is,” said that the report has finally made him snap — “so mad I could spit.”

Jeremy Konyndyk, who now works for the Center for Global Development, calls the Trump administration’s response disaster management “malpractice.” Here are his tweets breaking down the report:

In short, the Trump administration squandered the early days of the response — and has done little to rectify the situation in the aftermath. That’s led to a truly catastrophic humanitarian crisis that one official at the Army Corps of Engineers said is comparable to the Iraq War in 2003.

I think he cteated the controversy with the kneeling at NFL to appease the base and distract from healthcare. Now this will legitimately distract him in a negative light. I wonder what distraction from Puerto Rico he will create?

He is directly responsible for the increased post-storm death rate.

and now that horrible vicious tweet attack on the Mayor.....I am seriously, literally nauseated by what he said.

not a single thing trump has done succeeded. He is a sham failure, surrounded by sham fakes, who rely on blathering spittle to hype false ability.

He and his henchman are as unable to organize and lead as a fart in a windstorm.

Not only is Trump a white nationalist, narcissist, and the absolute king of emoluments (started 49 new enterprises since being elected that are making him money), lazy and immoral, but we can now add CRIMINALLY NEGLIGENT to his resume.

He is truly unfit for office.

No American deserves the Trump 'brand' of leadership. The world does not deserve it.

Pence needs to be pressured to invoke Amendment 25 and declare Cheetoh unfit for office and remove him before more innocent people die from his malfeasance. We are BETTER THAN THIS as a nation, as a people.

he destroyed everything from casinos to football leagues. And now the most powerful country in the world, in 9 months. Just by being a self-absorbed parasite.

No, we didn't deserve destruction, but that's what we are living. Right now.

standing still! Your inaction will go down in posterity as exactly what not to do in a crisis, unfortunately, it will probably still be ignored by the next idiot. History is doomed to repeat itself!

With the example of Bush and Katrina not all that long ago, Trumpo and Co., still managed to outdo them in incompetence!
