Laura Ingraham: 'Romney's losing'

If the election were held today, Mitt Romney would lose. This is especially vexing when we have survey after survey showing that two-thirds of Americans think the country is going in the wrong direction. This is especially disconcerting when you see the numbers that came out yesterday on the voters confidence in Americas future: an overwhelming majority of Americans think America now is in decline and that their childrens future will not be as bright as their own. Forty-two months straight of over 8 percent unemployment.

(98,883 posts)Moderate republicans are no longer part of the party, and the tea party element, which lets face it is the George Wallace, Lester Maddox, racists that make up the tea party, and 30% of the republican party is composed of thar, will not be accepted by independents

(8,636 posts)And, maybe some of them are actually paying attention to the fact that the GOP-controlled House has blocked any attempts at jobs bills.
Maybe there's hope for the American electorate after all! Ya think?

(14,177 posts)I think that is probably the number that will always think we are going in the wrong direction.

(14,031 posts)That adds together both the people of the President's own party who think his policies don't go far enough as well as those that oppose anything he does.

(14 posts)And to this day, I have YET to hear ONE freaking person on ANY news channel talk about this fact..
I'm guessing Obama may bring it up during the debates....he has to...someone has to make sure the American voting public take that fact in account when they go into the voting booths in November

How bout Republidorks? No? Too soon?
I think this is relevant:
Lieutenant Charles Pizer: We'd be better off without you and Maximilian trying to knock heads.
V.I.N.CENT: I can handle that thing.
Lieutenant Charles Pizer: Well, far be it from you to admit there isn't anything you can't handle.
V.I.N.CENT: There are three basic types, Mr. Pizer: the Wills, the Won'ts, and the Can'ts. The Wills accomplish everything, the Won'ts oppose everything, and the Can'ts won't try anything.
The Wills (Democrats: When they actually fight for something), The Won'ts (Republicans: Currently in office and Governors) and The Cant's (The Republicans Tea Party)

It really makes me mad when Repukes try to spin this survey tidbit to their advantage. The question asked in this 'survey' was too broad and vague. I too think the country is headed in the wrong direction, but not because of anything the Democrats or the Obama administration has done. My biggest concerns are: the shrinking middle class, the ridiculous cost of higher education, a tax code rigged in favor of the wealthy and influential, too much $$$ spent on defense instead of our own citizens, etc, etc, etc.
Of course many of us don't like the direction the country is headed, but I blame the Republicans, and I believe most Democrats and Independents feel the same way!!!

(11 posts)Oh here's something you might want to add. The Republicans say they are the "Job Creators" and yet they spend all this money and effort to get President Obama out of office just because they don't like him when they could be spending their millions of dollars actually "CREATING JOBS"!!!

(4,396 posts)"because it interferes with the parent's control of children" as per Texan Republicans and other Republicans.
When I read that Texas textbooks are printing that the Loch Lomond monster is real, I believe that American children will be losing out in competing in the future with the rest of the world
America is choosing the wrong path downhill to nowhere, if it chooses the Republican path.
It is such a shame. To think that America once sent man to the moon....I can not believe what I am seeing happening.
When my American brother, NJ Bubba, says he is PROUD to not know anything about the world, I can not have hope for America. The book THE REPUBLICAN BRAIN does explain it but I am hoping that Americans like those on DU will be able to pull America back onto the right path that is greatness it was once on.

(25,111 posts)Shit, for years the gop party have been distorting, lying, cheating, stealing, misinforming, calling the opposition everything but a child of GOD - claiming they are the "only" people who their GAWD loves.
Now these assholes are preventing AMERICANS to vote, yes, an American right. These are hateful, sinful people.

in the opposite direction
and the people are beginning to realize who the Roadblockheads are
and they know what Obama has managed to accomplish
and the improvement nowadays is palpable in spending and good feeling
and McConnell and Boehner and Rush still play the same tunes.
