Kevin Spacey: Special Emmy award withdrawn after assault allegations

Source: BBC News

Kevin Spacey has been dropped as the recipient of a special Emmy award he was due to receive next month.

The International TV Academy said in a statement that it was withdrawing the International Emmy Founders Award "in light of recent events".

It comes after actor Anthony Rapp accused Spacey of making a sexual advance 30 years ago.

Responding to the allegations, Spacey said he was "beyond horrified" but did not remember the encounter.

He's been in some of my favorite movies. "Pay It Forward", is the closest I'll ever come to a religious philosophy.

Apparently he was walking his dog through a park when he had the crap beat out of him and his cell phone was stolen...

...I've read three articles about this so far, and every single one brought up the way he has denied his being gay several times...What the hell does that have to do with him being attacked in a park...Why do people care if he's gay or not?...

Spacey isn't just "gay," he's a chicken hawk (the old meaning) of epic porportions...

And to top it off, he has the nerve to try to turn this into an "opportunity" to come out and and "enlist" in the LGBT "struggle." Actually, he's just running for cover behind their protective skirts -- "Help, help, the homophobes are after me!"

Geraldine Mary Harmsworth Park

Or any google search with "Geraldine Mary Harmsworth Park Gay Cruising" will bring it up. He was there for sex, thats why he lied to the police.

Edit: Cruise spot = anonymous quick sex.

Here's what I posted in that very thread:

...Does this particular park have a cruising scene -- that is, was Spacey only "pretending" to walk his dog? And maybe the fight erupted in the course of haggling over the price?

I love the smell of vindication thirteen years later.

There are hundreds of other people involved in abuse of young people in Hollywood. I'd want them all outed and have their careers destroyed. Kevin Spacey is powerful, and his downfall, once this hit, took a day. Maybe that fact will give the abused courage to expose the people that hurt them.

My daughter is an amazing dancer for an 8 year old. I'd love her to find success and joy in that kind of thing. But right now, there's no way in hell I would let her within 50 feet of a Hollywood producer.

11. Just today Andy Dick was fired from the set

Andy Dick has been fired off the set of the upcoming comedy film “Raising Buchanan” following allegations of sexual harassment and inappropriate behavior.

Two sources with knowledge of the situation told The Hollywood Reporter that Mr. Dick was accused of groping people’s genitals, unwanted kissing and licking and making sexual advances on at least four members of the production.

The actor confirmed he was fired from the film and admitted to some inappropriate behavior like licking and making advances, but denied that he groped anyone, THR reported.

“I don’t grope people anymore. I don’t expose myself anymore,” Mr. Dick told the publication. “I do understand that the temperature in the world right now is delicate.”

Mr. Dick, who has a long history of drug abuse and sexual misconduct, joked that his middle name is “misconduct” and that his “Raising Buchanan” colleagues knew exactly what they were getting into.

“I didn’t grope anybody,” he said. “I might have kissed somebody on the cheek to say goodbye and then licked them. That’s my thing — I licked Carrie Fisher at a roast. It’s me being funny. I’m not trying to sexually harass people.

And may have not realized that Rapp was so young. I've seen a number of 14 y.o. that could pass for 18 very easily, esp. if one was intoxicated.

Personally I'd like to know a bit more 'detail' before I go proclaiming the man as some horrifying monster. Did he tell the kid he was 'really cute, and I'd like to date you in a few years', or did he grope him in the privates and threaten to ruin his career unless he came back with him to his trailer right now? Pretty huge difference there, and both constitute 'making a sexual advance'. A picture of the young man at the time would also be useful in interpreting just how egregious this action was on his part.

BTW, none of you even knew who Kevin Spacey was in 1987, so it makes no sense to talk like he was some all-powerful figure like Harvey Weinstein ... all the way back in 1987. He'd never been in any big movies yet by that point. Just a point of fact.

A party where Rapp was the only minor present.

What 26 year old would invite a minor he knew to be 14 to a party where there was to be drinking?

Jul 2018
(AP) - British police are investigating six claims of sexual assault or assault by Academy Award-winning actor Kevin Spacey...

Police in Britain don't name suspects until they are charged. Asked about Spacey, the force did not identify him by name but said Wednesday that detectives had received a total of five allegations of sexual assault and one of assault against a man. Five of the alleged offenses took place in London between 1996 and 2008, and the sixth in the western English city of Gloucester in 2013.

London's Old Vic theater, where Spacey was artistic director for 11 years until 2015, launched an investigation...(I)n November...it had received 20 allegations of inappropriate behavior by Spacey, and had encouraged 14 of the complainants to go to the police.

In the wake of the allegations, he was fired from political drama House of Cards and erased from Ridley Scott feature All the Money in the World. The film Billionaire Boys Club, a financial drama Spacey shot in 2015, is due for release this summer.

Due for release this summer? Just when they thought it was safe for Spacey to get back in the water? Not anymore, it isn't!
