Johnson to back Senate tax plan, putting GOP leaders close to passing massive bill

Source: The Washington Post

By Damian Paletta and Erica Werner December 1 at 9:25 AM

Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) will vote for the GOP tax overhaul package, a spokesman said Friday, giving Republican leaders support from one of their party’s final few holdouts and moving the bill much closer to passing.

Johnson’s support came after a late night of negotiations, following a standoff on the Senate floor Thursday when Johnson and two other members aired concerns about the bill.

He has long complained that the tax cut package does not provide enough benefits for a certain type of business, though he has requested numerous changes in recent days and it could not be immediately learned what precisely made him decide to back the bill.

Support from the Wisconsin Republican is a boost for Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), but GOP leaders still need to win backing from at least one more holdout before they can be assured they have enough votes to pass the bill.

He was never not going to vote for it. He did the same hand-wringing over Obamacare repeal. He is a Koch shill and Trumper.

that have been stolen from us by this tax bill.

Republicans think little people are dumb. They (we) are not. We know value, we know how to pinch, we know when
we're being taken for a ride. We watch our expected retirement income because we have to.

Some become human once they retire, but when in office ALL are totally sycophants for the rich. These tax cuts if passed (and it seems like they will) will devastate the economy, especially for sick people, the poor, and anyone who lives in a high tax state, but the rich will just stash their $ abroad and then take extra tax credits when the businesses do very poorly because not enough Americans have the
$ to buy their wares and they stash that $ abroad too. drrumpf, mercers, etc. will buy up cheap property and raise rents astronomically, laughing at the pictures of people dying because it's their own fault they didn't get lucky in the sperm/ovum category.

with anyone who's finally gained their SS benefits after so many years of working for these benefits, to hear this repetitive drumbeat of revamping and restructuring the entire SS apparatus, this is leading to a lot of fear among these folks, including my own parents and older friends of what might happen. I try to reassure them, but what can I say, other than VOTE your pocketbook, not the KOCH brothers, not tRUMP's, yours!

been taking SS since-- 2008...

You know what I did.. I kept working for several years after that and put every penny of my SS check in my IRA or savings acct... just in case.....
Not enough to save me but, it turns out to have been a smart move for what it is worth...

try to conceal the corruption and self interest anymore. Would it have been so hard Ron to at least LOOK like you cared about the middle class & poverty?????????? You dont have to really care about us, just pretend you do .... is that so hard?

No, it was all about Ron's LLC, that's the only reason he was threatening to vote no.

This abomination of a bill is a Trojan horse to gut programs we have paid into and to steal the money for the rich and Wall Street.

For years I've been telling my puke-voting acquaintances this is coming, to be met with looks of disbelief. And now here it is. Anyone who works for a living or isn't wealthy (and a greedy, mentally ill money hoarder) who votes puke is a dumbass.

The racism and faux religiosity are all just hooks to get more morans to vote to cut their throats financially.
