Pelosi: Flynn guilty plea a 'dark moment' in American history

Source: The Hill

BY JOSH DELK - 12/01/17 02:16 PM EST

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said Friday that former national security adviser Michael Flynn's guilty plea to charges of lying to federal authorities in the Russia probe is a "dark moment" in American history.

“The guilty plea of President Trump’s former National Security Advisor to lying to the FBI about his communications with Russian authorities marks a dark moment in our nation’s history," Pelosi said in a statement.

Flynn pleaded guilty on Friday to charges of lying to the FBI about his conversations during the presidential transition with then-Russian Ambassador to the U.S. Sergey Kislyak.

According to court documents, Flynn lied when he told investigators that he didn't ask Kislyak to "refrain from escalating the situation" in response to sanctions then-President Obama levied on Russia over Moscow's 2016 election meddling.

Most retired military get referred to by their rank, you sure don't see that much with this guy. What a disgrace to honorable servicemen.

Stay out of its way and let it do it's thing. No reason to give the GOP talking heads a reason to use their typical sexist rhetoric about raving female democrats. They are doing fine showing their own asses without us pulling their pants down. You have to remember that these people likely know a lot more about what is coming down the pike than we do. Making it appear like a democratic witch hunt doesn't do anything to lend credence to the investigation. When the time comes where a push is needed THEN they should be ready to pounce. But not now. Let it continue to play out.

Back in April George Bush's top ethics lawyer was calling for him to be stripped of his rank. Surely that will happen with a guilty plea.

driving force in this deal. This is a Treason Story. And Mr. Mueller is working to square the circle before Sessions fires him. The States will have to carry the ball after that event. We now know New York is getting up to speed, can't wait till California gets into this.
