Florida bars O'Keefe from fundraising in the state

Source: The Hill

BY JOSH DELK - 12/09/17 10:43 AM EST

Florida has barred James O'Keefe, a conservative activist and founder of an organization that targets reporters and liberal groups through undercover investigations, from fundraising in the state, The Washington Post reported Friday.

O'Keefe, who was previously convicted in Louisiana for entering a U.S. senator's office with two men posing as phone repairmen, will not be allowed to fundraise in Florida due to a law that prevents people found guilty of fraud and other crimes from soliciting donations from residents.

New York threatened last week to ban O'Keefe's group Project Veritas from raising money in that state over the founder's criminal conviction and failure to file certain documents with officials.

A Florida official told the Post they had informed Project Veritas that O'Keefe's conviction falls within "disqualifying offenses" under Florida law.

I know of a charity that did the same thing. The individual donations were almost a nuisance, 99% of the money came from a few donors. It simply gave the impression of not being almost solely funded by BIG money.

Basically, are they not just stripping the non-profit status from him?

But this is just in Florida not on donor federal returns.

Plus we are working to put an amendment in our constitution to re-enfranchise felons which, if they vote, would make us a blue state. It is an uphill battle but may well happen.

WHY felons are stripped of their voting rights. They are STILL citizens, and should have voting rights. Gop must have decided that most felons are (D) so they stripped them of their right to vote. I have always felt that this was wrong. How does this help people regain their self respect after already paying for whatever crime they committed?

Once you realize a huge proportion of felons are people of color.

When African Americans we finally allow to vote they white power structure had to find other ways to disenfranchise them.

Thus lots of felony drug convictions
