Calling the old Obama-era policy an exploitation of the open Internet, the comment was posted on June 2 by Donna Duthie of Lake Bluff, Ill.
Its a fake. Ms. Duthie died 12 years ago.
The Wall Street Journal has uncovered thousands of other fraudulent comments on regulatory dockets at federal agencies, some using what appear to be stolen identities posted by computers programmed to pile comments onto the dockets.

(34,031 posts)I'm glad I complained to my congressman and senators.
I don't like Sen Cornyn's politics, but he is very good with constituent services. I found fraudulent comments in my name and address on the FCC's site. I also also had a real comment that I had placed on November 28th in my name and address. I printed out the comments and went to their offices. I showed them my driver's license, so that they would know it was me living at the address. I don't think they'll catch the culprits, but Sen Cornyn's office is investigating. The other two kinda shrugged their shoulders about the whole thing.

(25,959 posts)FCC has been taken over. Our only hope is that enough Repug business people scream bloody murder about this so Congress overturns it. Otherwise, it could soon be bye-bye DU, NYT, Move-On, etc.
