Obama campaign: Romney seemed 'unhinged'
Source: Politico
The Obama campaign fired back Tuesday against a tough Mitt Romney speech in Chillicothe, Ohio, saying that Romney seemed "unhinged."
Governor Romney's comments tonight seemed unhinged, and particularly strange coming at a time when he's pouring tens of millions of dollars into negative ads that are demonstrably false, campaign press secretary Ben LaBolt said in a statement.
Romney said Tuesday that the president had resorted to "diversions and distractions," that Obama was "taking things to a new low," and that he was running a campaign of "hate."

(25,111 posts)Mittens and Ryan have already kiss the ring of Adelson and the richies, but Adelson wants a war with Iran. WW3 folks. While these rich people and their protected families are sitting in secure areas, we the little people will be fighting for our lives at the richies pleasures.

(10,745 posts)The Cold War ended in '91, man. Even nuking all of Iran won't start WW3, and I doubt the Russians would be willing to gamble with 160 million innocent lives over a country whose leaders never actually liked them anyhow.......

(51,638 posts)He couldn't wait until the eve of the convention like McCain did. He was too desperate to change the conversation about his tax returns. Acts done in a panic are rarely logical. Now, his VP will be defined by the web and media, rather than by the GOP at their convention while millions watch attentively like they did with Palin. Of course, Palin quickly pissed through all that good will. Ryan probably would too, but now he's not even going to get the honeymoon that Palin got.

(7,403 posts)The problem is that the Romney campaign has not yet assembled the complete Ryan record so they will be dealing with unexpected discoveries in the two weeks leading up to the convention and the constant, shifting statements will reinforce the image of Romney not being ready for prime time.
The other thing; Ryan lies more easily than Romney because he doesn't have that nervous laugh just before the lie is told. That could well lead to over exposure for Ryan, who already has low approval ratings. For instance, Ryan had a tough day today because he repeated the Romney talking point that they will not have details on the tax plan until after the election, asking Americans to buy a pig in a poke. That is a non-starter and using Ryan in this manner is a big mistake. And that was on Fox News. Just wait until he meets the real world.

(2,124 posts)McCain and his cronies ran the full gambit of dirty tricks on Obama, while saying that Obama was running the "dirtiest campaign in American history." Obama was smart enough to ignore it and keep doing what he was doing. Hope this remains true.
When Romney shrieks that Obama is campaigning with hate, what experienced political strategists should hear is that Romney is saying: "I'm getting my ass handed to me! Please stop! Please stop!"
