Ron Paul: Trump may be vulnerable to 2020 GOP primary challenge

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by DonViejo (a host of the Latest Breaking News forum).

Source: Washington Examiner

Former Texas Rep. Ron Paul says a yearlong economic boom under President Trump is “a bit of an illusion” and that debt, inflation, and inequality could cause turmoil that benefits a “hardcore nucleus” of libertarians.

The libertarian Republican leader told the Washington Examiner that Trump could face a strong challenger in the 2020 GOP primary, especially if “things are really much worse."

“The big opening for us is the fact that this system is coming apart. We’re on the verge of something like what happened in ‘89 when the Soviet system just collapsed,” he said. “I’m just hoping our system comes apart as gracefully as the Soviet system.”

because you, Ron, and your crew are systematically dismantling it. Funny that you are comparing the fall of America to that of the Soviet Union. Coincidence?

ok, fine, they avoided a major civil war or a nuclear disaster. coulda been worse.

but there's nothing "graceful" about endless kleptocratic reign by mr. kgb.

I read that over the weekend Russia had ships in British waters. So looks like the rupukes are trying to align themselves with our enemy Russia against our traditional allies.

Gracefully? First, there is no such thing as a graceful collapse. There can be a gracious way to acknowledge a total collapse, and that didn't happen in Russia, except MAYBE for Gorbachev who ignored his own advisors when he refused to take a hard line. He saw the writing on the wall.

The loss of custody of nukes and chemical weapons is hardly an example of grace.

Second, the economy was in shambles before and after. There is no example of an economy in shambles here, despite the current systemic flaws.

This guy was a doctor? Glad i was never a patient. He's an idiot.

wants to make a comeback. The Palins are working hard to prove they are worse than the trump family and therefore qualify for the republican party nomination.
