Kelly: Trump doesn't ask 'how other presidents did this'

Source: The Hill

BY BRETT SAMUELS - 12/31/17 10:24 AM EST

Chief of Staff John Kelly on Sunday said President Trump remains “fairly unconventional” after a year in office, noting he rarely asks how other presidents have made decisions in the past.

“The norms and conventions are exactly what he ran against and, in his view, are why we’re in the fix we’re in. He doesn’t intentionally make decisions that are opposite, say, of what a previous president would make. He’s got a view of what’s better for America,” Kelly told The New York Times.

Trump has made a number of decisions to reverse regulations, legislation and deals put into place by former President Obama, which many experts see as an intentional strategy to undermine the previous administration.

Trump has frequently compared himself to past presidential administrations when touting his achievements, often saying he has done more "than any other president."

If he is saying that Trump improved the presidency, he is just a sycophant. No one who is both informed (which he is close enough to be) and honest (which he clearly isn't) can say Trump has improved the presidency.

Unless, by "improved", he means, got the black guy out and brought in the nude model who knows her place.

Please Michelle O., run for President!

If we do not learn something from it, we repeat it?

Reinventing the Presidency to resemble an authoritative regime is not what the Founding Fathers had in mind at all. Because if this country falls the way Rome fell because of its territorial and internal arrogance, the Republicans in both Houses of Congress and the Supreme Court will be complicit in that fall.

Watch this space.

What "fix" is that? The main problem I see right now is Trump, not previous administrations or "norms and conventions". It appears that Trump's derangement is contagious.

Let's see ... he says he has done more than any other president, but he's incurious about what
any other president may have done. I'd say we have just diagrammed a lie - he has no
clue what other presidents have done. Perhaps Mr Trump thinks they just played golf - like him.

Most likely this Kelly talk says more about Kelly and is irrelevant to Mr Trump's "decision" process.

That's complete BULLSHIT Kelly. He HAS. Everything that he can find that Obama did, he is doing the exact opposite, and doing so in a systematic way.

It seems Kelly's comment was because he knows it is true and it has been pointed out to him, but he is attempting to cloak that fact in a lie by denial.

Putin didn't install the little orange demon to steer the ship of state on a safe voyage, he's there to ram us into the rocks at full speed. getting Trump elected was a major triumph of epic proportions for Putin, he's not going to waste this opportunity to ruin our country as hard & fast as possible.

An authoritarian nationalistic broken U.S. just puts Russia in more danger.

After Russia "wins":
Putin, you just removed the checks and balances governing the most powerful military the world has ever seen! Now a bunch of religious nuts and ultra nationalists are in charge! Congrats?
