Republican voters are most interested in hearing from congressional candidates running in this year's midterm elections about provocations by North Korea, according to a new survey.
Nearly a third of GOP voters, 31 percent, said that the situation with North Korea tops their list of priorities in the 2018 midterms, the Kaiser Family Foundation poll finds.
North Korea is followed by immigration, with 27 percent calling that the most important issue. The economy and jobs came in at a close third among GOP voters surveyed at 25 percent.
Democratic voters and independent voters, on the other hand, put health care at the top of their priorities lists for the 2018 midterm elections, at 39 percent and 32 percent, respectively.

(31,893 posts)Republicans: show them a bogeyman and they'll come running, salivating like Pavlov's dog, because they're wired to respond to fear.
Democrats: show them a social/community problem and they'll want to rise up to solve it, because they're wired to respond to human needs.

(5,801 posts)Not that dealing with NK isn't a serious matter, but somehow we avoided being (told we are) on the brink of war while President Obama was in office. dump gets installed and all of a sudden relations deteriorate.
dump's handlers are getting a twofer: scaring the peasantry and giving the dumbass base something to beat their chests over. Oh, and one more: distracting from the Mueller investigation. Who wouldn't put it past dump to start a war out of self preservation?
See, dumbass deplorables, this is why it's not a good idea to vote for a pathological narcissist. And sociopath. But since you love him so much, be sure to send your children to the nearest recruiting office to enlist in order to fight in dump's war(s).

A country, none of them have ever been to, and none of them will ever go to, is their highest concern.
GOP propaganda is just too good or their followers are just too dumb.

North Korea is less a threat than the shitgibbon in the WH.
Work on the infrastructure will provide good-paying jobs for many citizens (unless Trump & friends figure out a way to get H-2B foreign workers to take the jobs for less money). Of course, the corporations already have a plan in place to privatize the most profitable routes and leave the lesser used ones alone.

Why am I even surprised? Of course they are.
