he House Intelligence Committees Republican majority voted Monday to release an explosive memo alleging abuses by the FBI agents investigating collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign, the panels senior Democrat said. According to the majority, the FBI is under investigation and the Department of Justice," Rep. Adam Schiff said. He said Republicans voted to release their memo but not release a report by Democrats on the same subject. He called Republicans' vote a partisan move designed to hamper the Russia investigation.

(9,670 posts)Misleading, fictitious, or debunked, maybe. But explosive? Only if the press is going to give it the false equivalence that they always do.

(1,285 posts)Our representative Adam Schiff is on this, and the Democrats have their own memo which tells the truth about what is going on. When Representative Schiff is finished debunking the Republicans lies (which he is restricted from currently because the information is classified) the voters will replace the Republicans in Congress with Democrats. The 2018 elections are going to be a blood bath.

(4,033 posts)They also refused to let DOJ or FBI vet the memo to redact sensitive info. And Fusion GPS is really pissed that Congress is not protecting the names of Fusion employees, which Fusion has requested multiple times not to be released for safety reasons. And the GOP is giving a great big FUCK YOU to anyone who is not a Trump ass-licker!
The GOP is colluding with Russia to overthrow the Constitutional Republic that is the USA. They are fucking traitors and should be arrested, tried, and if found guilty, be subjected to the most severe legal punishment available.

And then initiate impeachment proceedings. Fuck this shit.

(19,233 posts)For releasing "classified" data right after the GOP did the same.

(92,122 posts)a coup against the U.S. by the republicans.
We should call are Democratic representatives and demand it, that if the republicans release their classified report, the Democrats must follow suit and release their report

(92,122 posts)election, and our illustrious press reported it as "the email investigation had been reopened", which was a LIE, and then proceeded to parade every right wing politician across the screen perpetuating that LIE for the next several days.
If the Democrats have any sense of preventing a complete collapse of the government as we know it, they would release the Democrat report on the same subject at the same time. Not doing so means that they are allowing the republicans to exert a coup against the United States of America, and are doing nothing to stop it, when they can

(18,625 posts)You know that's their goal.
Protect Trump at all costs.
I can't really understand why but that's what Republicans seem to think is the most important thing in the world.
Make sure Trump can continue to commit crimes without consequences.

(15,278 posts)First, everyone knows Nunes is a clown and a Trump toady. He has no credibility.
Second, the memo is about a follow-on FISA warrant on Carter Page, who was already known as a witting/unwitting Russian agent. Apparently FISA court judges will not approve follow-on surveillance warrants unless the initial surveilliance provided useful intelligence. In layman's terms, the court found Page was still acting as a Russian agent and let the FBI continue to monitor him.
By the time the memo is released, it will have been thoroughly discredited. Schiff did a great job of starting that process last night.

(11,140 posts)These warrants are signed off on by a host of upper level managers and several members of the Judiciary. This may go the way of the "Secret Society" quickly. Of course faux will be in shock over the memo 24/7.

(15,278 posts)I was surprised when he sort of shrugged and said something that I interpreted as "not really". That's what made me think the whole memo is some slipshod document - on par with the midnight WH run and "unmasking" documents - that will be easily and quickly discredited w/o even having to reveal any classified info/sources/methods.
