House will only consider immigration bill with Trump support: Ryan

Source: Reuters

#BUSINESS NEWS FEBRUARY 6, 2018 / 10:36 AM / UPDATED 19 MINUTES AGO

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. House of Representatives will only consider an immigration reform bill that has President Donald Trump’s support, House Speaker Paul Ryan said on Tuesday as lawmakers continue to weigh possible reforms amid larger budget negotiations.

“We’re not going to bring immigration legislation through that the president doesn’t support... it’s going to be a bill that we support, that the president supports,” Ryan told reporters at a news conference.

Trump on Monday appeared to reject a plan that was showing bipartisan support in the House and Senate.

Meantime, in case you haven't heard Tweets this morning

George W. Bush says our elections need, ready for this?, paper ballots.

And I did see one post that Republicans in Pennsylvania want to impeach the entire state Supreme Court that ruled against their gerrymandering.

Can't get much more partisan than that.

select areas as a means to correlate the electronic totals being derived, e.g., out of 100 districts voting, randomly select a few districts in order to compare w/ overall totals and ensure that voter totals are correctly being passed along. Voters don't have to vote paper either, they can continue to vote electronic if they wish (we have this option still in St. Louis City, paper or electronic), but the voting machines at the conclusion of that voter's voting, would print off an electronic copy of the votes, ask (if desired) if electronic copy matches their electronic voting.

Just a thought...

Only extreme anti-immigration bills allowed. Kelly and Miller must be ecstatic to hear this "news".

Things won't change until we take over the House (please everybody help as much as possible to vote and help others vote).

It is breathtaking to watch people who used to purport to stand for something cower in the face of Trump.

tRUMP has been all over the road w/ this issue and can't be nailed down. He's using this issue as a 'red button' issue in order to stir up his supporters and isn't even interested what-so-ever in passing anything.

Our great president cadet bone spurs...

To generate pre-approved legislation from a man-infant, or craft law as a leader? You impotent douche. He'll sign anything if Republicans stand tall for it, because he doesn't want to take blame for anything, and has zero grasp of policy. Pass a bill and do your job.

Just think, now we won't have to pay salaries for all our Representatives and their staffs.
