$6 million tax break sought for Mississippi Trump-managed hotel

NEW YORK – A Mississippi developer that has joined with the Trump Organization to open the first of possibly dozens of hotels in the U.S. president’s new mid-priced chain has applied for millions of dollars of state tax breaks.

Chawla Hotels filed an application in December for a tax break with the Mississippi Development Authority worth as much as 30 percent of eligible construction costs, or roughly $6 million, CEO Dinesh Chawla said Friday.

. . . The Trump Organization, which is based in New York, announced its two new chains – the mid-priced Scion, and the budget-priced American Idea – with great fanfare last year. Trump Hotels CEO Eric Danziger said he expected dozens of Scions, for instance, in short order.

But the chains have gotten off to a slow start, with only Chawla Hotels agreeing to join up with the company so far.

Bwaahahaha!

Only one sucker since last June, and that one asks for corporate welfare from taxpayers to help Trump violate the Emoluments Clause.

for these new product lines to succeed.

After all, that's how dump's made his money (other than outright scams such as dump U, etc.) in recent years.

Beavis and Butthead are knee deep in this enterprise. I wonder if they have tried all their Russian contacts yet? Maybe the scrutiny has scared the Russian money men off? Who will be staying at these hotels? We know the ones in DC are frequented by the (Russian owned) gop, and also Russian mobsters. Who visits the south? Are these the hotels the "boys" bragged about being plantation style hotels?

I'm sure this operation will do a thriving, booming "business" despite not having a single person walk through the front door.

...that all Scion hotels are required to serve Trump Steaks, Trump Wine and Trump Vodka to every guest, there will be a copy of Trump Magazine in every room, Trump Linens and Trump Towels will be used, the TVs will receive only Fox News, CBN and The Apprentice reruns, there will be a photo of Trump on the nightstand that must be displayed if the guests want to have sex in the rooms, the vending machines will only dispense Diet Coke, and the room service menus will feature McDonalds and KFC.

The housekeeping staff will be required to use Trump Vacuums, the only Trump-licensed product that doesn't suck.

Oh yeah...when you get to the front desk to settle your account, you might get a bill with the agreed-on price...or one that's ten times higher than you thought it was going to be.
