Russia calls U.S. allegations of election meddling absurd

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Allegations by the United States that Russian nationals interfered in U.S. elections are absurd, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Friday.

A U.S. federal grand jury on Friday indicted 13 Russian nationals and three Russian entities accused of interfering with U.S. elections and political processes.

“13 people interfered in the U.S. elections?! 13 against an intelligence services budget of billions? Against intelligence and counterintelligence, against the latest developments and technologies? Absurd? Yes,” Zakharova wrote in a post on Facebook.

Right now they're probably putting together a story based on Nunes' memo stating that these indictments are fake and Mueller's actions are motivated by political animus toward the president, as evidenced by the text messages between the two FBI agents.

They'll also question the timing, pointing out the indictments came out to embarrass IQ45 at a time he is going to stop by the Florida community. I was going to say, "to comfort the victims," but I don't recall seeing that in any of the WH statements. Mainly they say Trump is going to swing by on his way to Mar-A-Lago. Had the shooting occurred in a different state the residents would be SOL on getting a presidential visit.
