Rosie O’Donnell Had Heart Attack Last Week
08/20/12 3:53pm
Roger Friedman

EXCLUSIVE: Rosie O’Donnell had a real and serious heart attack last week. She just blogged about it on www.rosie.com. Rosie nearly died from what is known the Widow maker. According to her posting shevwas 99 percent blocked. She received a stent during angioplasty and is home, recovering. The attack seems to have been brought on by act of good will. Rosie helped a heavy woman out of her car in a parking lot. The strain may have caused the attack. Wisely she immediately took a Bayer aspirin. “Saved by a commercial,” she quips. Rosie’s already had a stressful summer with the illness of fiancee Michelle Rounds. But Michelle’s improving, I am told. Rosie, get better soon!

the Democratic Underground?

I could read this on any Hollywood web site.

Did this woman do anything to help Democrats in America?

If so, please explain, I always thought she represented the worst of American women, and never saw anything in her strange, different, ordinarily silly sit-com actor life that inspired me.

I was volunteering in Miami at a home for young women who had been removed from an abusive home. Rosie came to see the girls and offer her support. She rode her motorcycle to the home, where she met a young woman who had just arrived and had no shoes and literally nothing but the clothes on her back.

Rosie gave the girl the shoes she was wearing (just a tiny bit big) and rode home barefoot.

You don't have to like her humor to understand that she is a good person who does what she can to help those in need.

What has she done for our party?

Giving shoes to a poor person sounds like publicity stunt more than actually knocking on 1000 doors like I have done 4 or 5 times in an election.

Tell me more about what she did to help Democrats, I'd love to know.

I'm not impressed.

Phyllis Diller had to die to get recognized for her fabulous victorious life story.

Rosie is rich, arrogant, insulting, not really attractive, and a millionaire. Phyllis actually worked hard to get a career. Rosie got there making no good jokes, acting out scripts, then going dark for years.

Do you see the difference here?

Rosie is a self-made woman; she came from humble and rather unpleasant beginnings. Whether you think she got where she is by making "no good jokes" is neither here nor there - but I'd point out that her jokes are a lot better than your grammar.

The fact that you included the comment that "Rosie ... is not really attractive" speaks volumes - not about her, but about you.

how does that make you more perceptive? Disagreeing hardly rises to the level of "hatred," so don't you think that word is a bit much? Perhaps you could point out the "hatred" so I'll get it.

You don't like Rosie. I get it. But the fact that she is out and been publicly vocal about it and shared her family values, meaning her children and their lives in public, means she is championing and embodying the Democratic values of acceptance and tolerance.

Maybe you need to read this:

http://usliberals.about.com/od/celebrityactivists/p/RosieProfile.htm

"This President <Bush> invaded a sovereign nation in defiance of the UN. He is basically a war criminal. Honestly. He should be tried at The Hague. This man lied to the American public about the reasons for invading a nation that had nothing to do with 9/11." -- April 30, 2005 to interviewer Geraldo Rivera

...

"I personally, Rosie O’Donnell, have always been a Democrat. I will always support the Democrats and I love the Democratic agenda about gun control. This is not about politics. We didn’t ask the people standing here before us whether or not they’re Republican or Democrat. We asked if they care about the fact four thousand children are shot dead every year..." -- May 2000 to interviewer Cokie Roberts

And I was just being a couch potato when it happened. Who knew that terrible diet, a sedentary lifestyle, and bad genes could be bad for you? Well, it bought me three stents, including the LAD (the widowmaker).

I hope she starts cardiac rehab once she recovers a little. It has a huge impact on successful recovery. I'm 6+ years out and feeling great.

Hello, my name is eggplant... (hello, eggplant...) I love bacon.

But seriously, it is RN monitored and managed gym workouts. Every session, they assess your situation, connect you to wireless telemetry, and give you a personal workout regimen. I think my first day it was something like three minutes on a treadmill going 2mph, then take a break, then a few minutes on a stationary cycle at some speed, then a few minutes on a handbike, etc.

After, they check your BP and then do stretching exercises. Each day, you rate how hard each portion was and when it isn't very hard, they crank that one up. They switch around stations too. Sometimes on a rower, or a nautilus, etc.

While you are working out, they are able to keep an eye on how you look as well as your telemetry. If they are concerned, they make you stop and sit.

Since I am diabetic as well, they require you to test before and after your workout to keep your numbers in order.

I did it three times a week for six months at the local one (that coincidentally is one of the top five in the country -- go figure).

She's also a hero to our community, one of the 5 funniest stand ups I have ever seen, a philantropist and a generally great person.
How did you figure out that she's overweight? That must have taken some deep research.
