Raid on Trump's Lawyer Sought Records of Payments to Women
Source: New York Times
WASHINGTON - The F.B.I. agents who raided the office of President Trumps personal lawyer on Monday were looking for records about payments to two women who claim they had affairs with Mr. Trump, and information related to the publisher of The National Enquirers role in silencing one of the women, several people briefed on he investigation said.
The search warrant carried out by the public corruption unit of the Manhattan federal attorneys office seeks information about Karen McDougal, an ex-Playboy model who claims she carried on a nearly yearlong affair with Mr. Trump shortly after the birth of his son in 2006. Ms. McDougal was paid $150,000 by American Media Inc., the Enquirers parent company, whose chief executive is a friend of Mr. Trumps.
Agents were also searching Michael D. Cohens office for information related to Stephanie Clifford, better known as Stormy Daniels, who says she also had sex with Mr. Trump while he was married. Mr. Cohen has acknowledged that he paid Ms. Clifford $130,000 as part of a nondisclosure agreement to secure her silence just days before the 2016 presidential election.
Mr. Cohens lawyer, Stephen Ryan, on Monday called the raids inappropriate and unnecessary. In an email on Tuesday, he referred back to that statement.

(34,842 posts)... that during the last few weeks of the campaign they paid off 100 women so they wouldn't come forward and embarrass Trump with allegations of sexual misconduct.
They weren't necessarily alleged affairs like Stormy Daniels, but many were about Trump grabbing and kissing/groping various women without their permission. The women aren't named in "Fire and Fury" but I would guess that Daniels was one of those. Certainly Michael Cohen would have all their names and signed NDAs, because he's the one who paid them & kept them quiet.

(138,254 posts)I know there have to be a lot of them. For some reason, I remember stuff posted about a number of cases of women interested in coming forward. One article is here that references 19 -

Lurking in the background of the roiling debate about harassment and assault in American society are the allegations made against President Trump by at least 19 women, many of whom came forward after the release of the Access Hollywood tape in October 2016. Trump vociferously denies any wrongdoing. Is the official White House position that all of these women are lying? a reporter asked Sarah Huckabee Sanders, the White House press secretary, in late October. Yeah, weve been clear on that from the beginning, and the presidents spoken on it, Sanders replied.
Some of the womens stories date back to the 1980s when Trumps personal relationships were fixtures of the New York City tabloids; others begin after he returned to the public eye with his NBC series The Apprentice. Their accounts describe a wide range of alleged behavior, including lewd remarks, overt harassment, groping, and sexual assault. One woman, Summer Zervos, is currently suing the president for defamation after he repeatedly called her and the others liars. What follows are details from each accuserlisted alphabeticallyand the presidents corresponding defense.

Cosby was a big TV star (and multi-Emmy award winning) during the time Drumpf was in college, most likely fully engulfed in that "beat generation's" sex, drugs, and rock and roll (along with the likes of Dennis Hopper and Jack Nicholson).

Hopefully, personal NDAs are a thing of the past. I can see them for intellectual property, but to cover up crimes is just wrong.
