Trump If I Wanted to Fire Mueller 'I Would Have Fired Him'

Source: Mediate

by Aidan McLaughlin | 6:26 am, April 12th, 2018

President Donald Trump on Thursday morning addressed a New York Times story on Twitter that reported he threatened to shut down special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe into his campaign ties to Russia.

According to the Times, back in December Trump because “furious” after seeing news about subpoenas issued by Mueller to obtain information about his dealings with Deutsche Bank — and told advisers that Mueller’s investigation had to be stopped.

An interesting fact about Trump’s latest missive: that Times story is two days old, so he didn’t see it in this morning’s paper. You know what morning show covered it on Thursday? Not Fox & Friends….but CNN’s New Day! Trump is apparently self-flagellating again.

His tweet comes as his aides reportedly fear that he wants to fire Mueller, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, Attorney General Jeff Sessions and FBI Director Christopher Wray, all for their handling of the Russia investigation.

This says he's not fully panicked yet, and is still in his usual pretend mode.

and has said the same about everyone else he subsequently "fired". The "rumors" always swirl for some time before it happens and although no one knows exactly the "when", whatever he does will be based on "the last person" he talked to.

Sais “when I want to fire him I will” it is getting very close to the point where Mueller is an existential threat to Trump. He is going to fire him, period full stop!

on steroids.

And the Repugs will sit on their hands and say, "Tisk-tisk."

Question: If he does this, can another U.S. Attorney -- not a special prosecutor, just a run-of-the-mill one -- prosecute him for obstruction of justice? It seems the crime would stand by itself.
