Life sentence for drug trafficking
A federal judge in Kansas has sentenced a San Diego man to life in prison for drug trafficking that included delivering methamphetamine to Prairie Village.
Samuel Barajas, 27, was convicted in September of possession with one count each of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and using a cell phone in drug trafficking, prosecutors said today.
Barajas, who was sentenced Monday, was part of an operation that imported as much as 40 pounds of meth and 44 pounds of cocaine a week into the United States, prosecutors said.

(12,008 posts)I can understand putting people in prison for breaking laws, but this makes no sense to me at all. This is just more evidence for how completely detached the US is from the increasingly more developed world.
