Trump threatens countries who don't back U.S. World Cup bid

U.S. President Donald Trump is threatening to withhold support from nations who don't back the joint bid by the United States, Canada and Mexico to host the 2026 World Cup.

While FIFA has no authority to act against the North American bid over Trump's words, the world soccer body's rules of bidding note that governments can have an "undue influence" on the contest.

Morocco also has bid to host soccer's showcase. The FIFA Congress meets on June 13 in Moscow to select the 2026 host, and a majority of the 207 voting FIFA members is needed. They also may pick neither bid, which would lead to the host process being reopened.

Trump tweeted on Thursday: "The U.S. has put together a STRONG bid w/ Canada & Mexico for the 2026 World Cup. It would be a shame if countries that we always support were to lobby against the U.S. bid. Why should we be supporting these countries when they don't support us (including at the United Nations)?"

2. Once again, Donnie Two Scoops proves that he's a bully.

Unfortunately, it's worse than that -- he's a bully with almost unchecked power, whose megalomania is increasing exponentially with each passing day because no one but the courts will tell him "no." And he's packing the courts with incompetent Trump supporters whose only qualification is unwavering loyalty to him, as fast as his tiny hands can sign the orders. Do you think his loyalist judges are going to disagree with their benefactor? Look how ballistic IQ45 went when golden boy Gorsuch voted against him on one case...

The guilty plea dramatically unsealed last Monday from the FBI’s investigation into the alleged links of Donald Trump’s presidential campaign with Russia carried the hallmarks of the methods that unearthed the corrupt Fifa panjandrums. When the seven executives were hauled out of their beds in Zurich’s five-star Baur au Lac hotel and accused of the “World Cup of fraud”, the US Department of Justice revealed that one baron at the heart of it all, Charles “Chuck” Blazer, had already pleaded guilty.

The American’s flip from Fifa powerbroker to admitted fraudster and informer echoes that of George Papadopoulos, the former Trump campaign foreign affairs adviser revealed to have pleaded guilty to lying, who is now believed to have worn a wire since in conversations with associates. The exploration by the FBI, the Internal Revenue Service and the Department of Justice of endemic corruption in football followed the template now believed to be operating in the presidential investigation. They pinned Blazer with his undeniable guilt, secured his agreement to inform on others, then moved on to those whose names he sang. Investigators followed the evidence, and the money, secured more guilty pleas and informants, and proceeded to the next targets.

Former MI6 spy in hiding 'from the Russians' over Trump dirty dossier made £1million in two years while working undercover supplying FBI with information as he cracked open corruption in FIFA

Christopher Steele's British-based company uncovered corruption at FIFA

Company accounts reveal it recorded a profit of more than £1million between 2015 and 2016

Revelations uncovered by Steele's firm Orbis Business Intelligence led to the resignation of FIFA president Sepp Blatter
This work gave credence to his reporting on Trump's entanglements in Russia

Trump even attacked him on it during the campaign.

I wonder if the US loses the bid, will the Republicans go after Trump in the same way?

A pretty fair amount of the faithful "patriots" don't even WANT the WORLD Cup here because NWO and Bildebergers and Trilateralists and other Alex Jones-based reasons. It is SOCCER, not REAL football (even though them furriners call it football). It's what them Latinos and snooty liberal Europeans play.

and Trump has steamed in, threatening to withdraw aid. This is the kind of thing they did behind closed doors, and are now getting sacked, sanctioned and arrested for, and Trump is tweeting his threats openly.

2 years ago, this would have been unbelievable.
