Michael Avenatti, after significant investigation ...
Source: via Twitter
After significant investigation, we have discovered that Mr. Trumps atty Mr. Cohen received approximately $500,000 in the mos. after the election from a company controlled by a Russian Oligarc with close ties to Mr. Putin. These monies may have reimbursed the $130k payment.

(713 posts)If Cohen received payoffs from Russian Oligarachs for unknown purposes, it might only be one step away from Collusion/Conspiracy for Trump. A smoking gun.
It is amazing to me that a sitting President may be taken down by an Adult Film Actress and her tenacious Attorney. Life is stranger than fiction sometimes.
I can't wait for Trump to be convicted of Collusion. When they drag him away in handcuffs, I hope they replay every time this Clown said "No Collusion", the Mantra of an Idiot. Time is nearly up, you Orange Imbecile!

It's all connected!!! This is bigger than it seems. It's all a giant collusion profusion.
And yes, it is Vekselberg, Twitter right now is abuzz with his links to Wilbur Ross in running a failed bank in Cyprus
So the spider's web of contacts is growing exponentially by the hour

Viktor Vekselberg--whom @MichaelAvenatti claims gave $500K to @MichaelCohen212 --was a partner with Wilbur Ross in a Cyprus bank once sloshing with shady Russian money.

(10,270 posts)There was a story linked in here one day about how ST:V's Seven of Nine got Barrack Obama elected...
Apparently, she was married to some Illinois State rep who wanted to have an open marraige, and she declined and filed for divorce. When word got out about why, he decided not to run again...and that seat went to Barrack Obama instead (from there, he was elected to his Senate Seat, etc.)
So yeah, I get what you're sayin. If it weren't for Donald Trump's penis, where oh where would this country be headed lol???

(36,827 posts)Now that Cohen's financial records have been split wide open, we are going to discover all sorts of things about the Trumpco® shenanigans. We are going to find out how numerous Trump dalliances have been hushed and how the hush money flowed through quid pro quo arrangements. In the coming weeks we are going to learn about Trump's real relationship with Shera Bechard and the story behind that deal is going to be even better.

tRUMP: bragged that he was self funding his campaign. How about this?
Russian Oligarchs flow money into Cohen who flows it to tRUMP who then *funds* his campaign. So, at the end of the day tRUMP is funding his campaign but with $ from Putin's boys.
Oh, and had Houston gotten the *million of my own money* from tRUMP ?
And, is he donating his salary to charity every month?
If he's not bragging about it I doubt it.

(43,181 posts)Thanks for bringing up David Fahrenthold and his investigation into the phony Trump Foundation.
I paid close attention to his reporting during the election (remember the self-portrait he bought with Foundation funds for $20,000) but it all got pushed aside as all the craziness accumulated.
Looking back, I'm pretty sure that the Trump Foundation was nothing but a slush fund for laundering Russian money.

Holy Crap. This is BIG.
This couldn't get more curious and complicated. Guest on MSNBC, Ari's show, says if true, this might well prove collusion, using social media to sway the election, the whole ball of wax.
This is YUGE news, if true. Wow.
(Is someone important leaking info to Avenatti? Hmmmmm.)
bucolic_frolic
(43,149 posts)Well who knows, but his bio lists cases he's settled, some in the hundreds of millions of dollars. With legal researchers available around the globe, and attorneys probably willing to work cheaply or even pro bono, following the paper trail might be $100 to $500+ an hour plus filing costs, phones, incidentals? Maybe $50k or so?

(37,648 posts)I saw on CNN that Mueller is interviewing that Russian oligarch about payments to Cohen. So it looks like Avenatti may have gotten that info that way, in some way. He cites specific amounts.
If this is true...this is YUGE. One of the inner circle, Trump's personal atty & working for the Trump Org., taking money from a Russian oligarch, & possibly using some of that money to "take care" of a problem that might hurt Trump's election (the porn star). Wow.
If I were Cohen, I'd be afraid. Very afraid.

Thank's for editing your post, it looked like you were implying that Avenatti was involved in a conspiracy of some sort.
We have to stay focused on the real culprit, Mueller.

That he got it from Mueller makes more sense, and stops any such conspiracy "deep state" theories.

(713 posts)Avenatti is pursuing a Civil Case against Trump for his Client. It is his perfect right to do so. Mueller and his Team are pursuing potential criminal activities. This private, civil pursuit (Avanatti/Daniels) is running in parallel to the Mueller Probe (Government/Criminal Investigation). This often happens in the law- a potential crime can also be pursued in Civil Law for damages.
Avenatti has a responsibility to his client to pursue the matter as effectively as possible, and I think that he is doing this. He is obviously a skilled laywer who is also skilled at prosecuting the case in the media, which is also necessary given the profile and national implications of this case.
So, I question anyone who does not support Avenatti, who is working to stop Trump. I agree with Heartstrings and others who respect what Avenatti is doing, which is his job.

(14,490 posts)My concern is that in Avenatti exuberance, he could somehow compromise Mueller's investigation. I doubt that Avenatti is revealing anything Mueller is unaware of, although he appears to be getting info from leaks.
Robert Mueller is playing an extremely complex game here (including sensitivity of politics), and leaks of evidence could hurt his logical process for prosecution AND hurt his chances for reaching plea deals.

(37,648 posts)If you watch the talking heads & journalists, they're stating that this didn't come from a journalist, so they are saying "alleged" until they have a chance to verify what Avenatti says about the money to Cohen from Russian oligarch. One pundit said it seemed like someone leaked some information to Avenatti.
Why would you want him to go away, when he's being very effective pursuing his case against a mob boss? The mob boss has the biggest pulpit in the world and uses it effectively, including to tear down Avenatti's client. So I think Avenatti uses the media to try to counter that....to get ahead of the insulted and defamation against his client, and to win public opinion. If he didn't, the public would have a different opinion of Stormy and probably would not understand what went on here.
I do think he may be carrying it too far. He's been on a media blitz for some time. But I guess you can't argue with success. He's been successful in his goals, so far. Trump & Ghouliani have been unsuccessful in trying to counter him, probably because he's so aggressive and he's truthful and has facts on his side.
