Devin Nunes Gets Meeting On Secret Russia Probe Source After Threatening DOJ

The Republican congressman has proposed impeaching two DOJ leaders and holding a third in contempt.

WASHINGTON ― Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.), a prominent defender of President Donald Trump who has taken to threatening the Trump-appointed leadership at the Justice Department, got a meeting with Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein on Thursday about his subpoena for documents that government officials reportedly worry would put a top-secret intelligence source in danger.

In a statement after their meeting, Nunes and Gowdy said that they had a “productive discussion” with FBI, DOJ and Office of the Director of National Intelligence officials and that the officials “committed to holding further discussions of these matters” next week.
It’s unclear how this will end. Nunes now has the backing of House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.), who told reporters that the latest request was “wholly appropriate” and “completely within the scope of the investigation that has been going on a while with respect to FISA.”
CNN reported that the White House has been closely involved in discussions about the dispute. Schiff told CNN that he believes Republicans “want to have a fight with the Justice Department.”.............................

.....................The subpoena reportedly demands “all documents referring or related to the individual referenced in Chairman Nunes’ April 24, 2018 classified letter to Attorney General [Jeff] Sessions.”
On Thursday, House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis., defended Nunes’ subpoena, calling the request “perfectly appropriate within the scope of the committee’s investigation.”
Ryan said he expected “that they will be complied with.”
Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., the ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee, was also at the Justice Department separately for the same classified briefing, but his spokesperson declined to comment further.............................................

BREAKING: Today GOP Rep Devin Nunes did NOT get access to the intel he's been so hysterical about from the DoJ. He and Gowdy sent out a statement saying they would talk more about it with DoJ next week. Trump won't be happy with his little lapdog Devin. Nunes lost this battle.

then the DOJ and FBI know that. It also would put Nunes in a position, again, where he needs to recuse himself. But alas, GOPers do not have any ethics.
