At a campaign stop in his home state of Michigan Friday, Mitt Romney made a joke referencing the continued doubts about President Obama's birth certificate raised by Romney supporters like Donald Trump.

"I love being home, where but the both of us were born," Romney said after introducing his wife, fellow Michigan native Ann. "No one asked to see my birth certificate. They know this is where we were born and raised."

But how was he eligible to run for president? Mitt's grandparents appeared to have disavowed their citizenship when they fled the country to avoid its laws, and George was clearly born in Mexico by most all accounts. I know McCain, being born in Panama, qualified under an exception, but why George Romney?

Anyone know the answer?

Mitt Romney doesn't give a fuck, he doesn't care that you want to see his taxes. Not because he is afraid of what's in them, the IRS would have gone after him. He just doesnt think that anyone who would want them, would vote for him anyway, he won't give you that satisfaction. Same goes for this joke, anyone offended by this wont be voting for him anyway, so why not make his base laugh.
