Haspel secures enough Senate support for confirmation as CIA director

Gina Haspel has locked in the necessary support to win confirmation as President Donald Trump's CIA director, as two critical undecided Democrats — Sens. Mark Warner of Virginia and Heidi Heitkamp of North Dakota — announced Tuesday that they would support her nomination.

Haspel has now won votes from four Democratic senators, allowing her to overcome any potential remaining opposition from either side of the aisle.

Why is Mark Warner doing this? He's not even up for re-election this year. Torture is not, nor should ever be, an acceptable action, and anyone who even considers it, let alone actually perpetuated a program of it, should be considered de facto unfit for any such office. I'm severely depressed just thinking about these votes.

I want to say more but I don't know where the boundaries are for criticizing Democratic congressman. I will just say I am deeply disappointed in these 4 Senators.
