Hundreds In Israel And Beyond Protest Killings Of Palestinians On Gaza Border

Source: HUFF POST

05/15/2018 09:27 pm ET

Israeli military forces killed some 60 Palestinian demonstrators on Monday.
By Sarah Ruiz-Grossman

............................................

On Tuesday, hundreds of people in Tel Aviv marched and blocked traffic after Israeli forces fired on largely unarmed Palestinian protesters in Gaza on Monday, killing around 60 people and injuring hundreds more.

Dozens more people have protested around the world early this week, including in the United States, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Canada and South Africa.

“People, you could see, were deeply angry with the current situation,” Alon-Lee Green, national director of the Israeli activist group Standing Together, which organized the protests in Tel Aviv, told HuffPost late on Tuesday. More than 600 protesters blocked roads in the city center for over two hours, he said.

“Yesterday in Israel all day, the TV news just showed a split screen: Half of it was from the shootings in Gaza, and the number of casualties was increasing by the minute. And then in the other half was [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu and Ivanka Trump, literally drinking champagne in the U.S. Embassy opening,” Green added. “It was surreal and frustrating.”................................

Past Presidents knew violence --and deaths would break out if US embassy moved. But Trump needed an EGO boost and bragging rights to fulfill a campaign promise. But he did not care.

and they all said they want to live with everyone in a peaceful environment and they think that could be a reality. It seems that the young Jews and Palestinians have the same feelings about this. Hmmm...maybe the adults should listen for once.

state solution", and that is a subtle way to say they want to eliminate Israel.

This so-called one state solution with the high population numbers of the Palestinians would mean the destruction of Israel, and they try to coat it as everyone would live in harmony with one state, is code for "without the Jews"

It is not a coincidence that before 1967 that Jews were NOT allowed access to the holy sites in Jerusalem, and it was only after the 1967 war where various Arab states tried to "push the Jews into the sea", that Israel took control of Jerusalem, and allowed access to the holy sites for all the religions.

It is so convenient for people to forget that when the Arab Legion controlled Jerusalem, the Jewish Quarter of the Old City was destroyed and its residents expelled. The Jewish cemetery on the Mount of Olives, where Jews had been burying their dead for over 2500 years were ransacked, and graves desecrated

If peace is going to be achieved it will be through a two-state solution, or it isn't going to happen

Everything that the trump administration is doing, and the consequences of that is quite predictable.

Withdrawing from the Iran Nuclear deal, moving the embassy to Jerusuleum, doesn't take a rocket scientist to predict what would happen.

The same fools who were behind our invasion of Iraq based on a lie are directing our current ME policy.

By moving the embassy the U.S. has just eliminated the resumption of peace talks in the foreseeable future.

It has repeatedly ignored the UN, it is a state founded on terrorism, it has attempted to frame Muslims for terrorist attacks, it has killed thousands of civilians and stolen their land, it's leader is as corrupt as ours, it helped jihadis - endless jihadis - when it suited them, it has an illegal nuclear weapons program that created illegal nuclear weapons which it refuses to allow outside observers to monitor, etc. Oh and it has bombed the same UN outpost, twice.

As rogue as any state you'd find.

OK.

So people care that Pakistan and North Korea (and potentially Saudi Arabia) have near weapons because are signatories of the NPT. I see.

And sure why care that a state with a history of terrorism and of murdering untold numbers of civilians has the third most nuclear weapons in the world.

But it is true that world leaders don't.

And by Arab states you mean dictatorships like Saudi Arabia, which like Israel is happy to murder untold numbers of women and children to get what they want.

Europe on the other hand is far less impressed.

Here in Ireland a clear majority want the government to expel the top Israeli deplomat in protest.

So who should Israel side with? Europeans of Arab that until recently said "death to Israel"?

Describe how a entity with the same size economy, more people, and - of course - the main non-ME place to take US created refugees from the Iraq War 2, etc., is irrelevant.

What you'll ACTUALLY find - if you have a meaningful look - is the world working around the US, and the US is more irrelevant than any time since before WW1.

Europeans are saying that the US is no longer a trustworthy ally, and Asian isn't saying it, but it acting on it.

On top of all of that, Israel is, and has been for years and years and years, one of the least popular nations on the globe. They have one country willing to prop up their endless criminal and immoral behaviour, and you know exactly who that is.

The rest of the world sees Israel as the biggest opponent to peace int he ME and a serial and non-stop abuser of human rights.

Syria changed everything. The region is realigning to prepare for war with Iran. Notice how quiet all the Arab countries are about Gaza? Are you aware of increasing military and intelligence cooperation between Israel and their Arab neighbors?

Europe is being sidelined in the ME. Their views on Israel will make no difference.

That there is a recent and unsustainable move by a percentage of Arab states.

But that is over a few months.

MOST of these same countries are not natural allies of Israel, and probably won't be anything like real allies, ever.

And this is because, btw., US pressure and Israel running out of friends in Western countries.

Europe is not sidelined. Europe is HEAVILY involved in the ME, actively. Unlike the US though, Europe isn't endlessly trying to start a war with Iran. Those are different things.

And frankly, when the only friends you have a war criminals and dictators, well... you're probably fairly awful.

Israel ACTIVELY trying to work with people who are bombing children's hospitals, refugee camps and civilian infrastructure, out of fear of Iran, is nothing anyone should be bragging about.

Thanks for the good post, Riversedge. Shows the contrast between tRump's egotistical bluster and reality.

Ran across this article by accident this morning, suggesting possible Arab backlash in the future.....

Link: https://www.telesurtv.net/english/news/Arab-League-Meets-to-Counter-US-Embassy-Move-20180516-0003.html

The Cairo-based Arab League will hold a meeting to discuss the “illegal” relocation of the U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, MENA has reported.

The aim of the emergency meeting is to urge the league's permanent representatives “to counter the illegal decision taken by the United States of America to transfer its embassy to Jerusalem,” the organization's deputy secretary general for Palestinian affairs, Saeed Abu Ali, said.

Arab League Chief Ahmed Aboul Gheit added that the move was a “clear violation of international law.”
----
“The opening of the American embassy in occupied Jerusalem represents a step of utmost gravity which I do not think the U.S. administration realizes its real consequences in both the short and long-term.”

I don't have account access to MENA (Middle East News Agency). It would be interesting to read a full perspective on the rational behind the Arab League's belief that this violates international law.

Pointing out the antisemitic lies being spread here will get you banned. I've already had a post hidden for pointing out someone was effectively spreading the new blood libel.

Israel is being attacked by Iran (that's who supports Hamas). They are paying $100/day for the attackers. That's it.

The purpose of the Iranian attack is the annihilation of Jewish people, for being Jewish.

You don't have to trust me; listen to the NPR interview with some of the attackers. The funniest one was the one who was asking why the teenager was putting swastikas on his fire bomb kite (which was to fly and randomly drop on a farmer's field and burn it). The reporter said "wouldn't that discredit your cause to draw a swastika?" To which the terrorists answered "Oh no, the swastika makes the Jews go crazy. I like the Nazis. I want the Jews to burn, too."

Not what the reporter was fishing for.

But I am disgusted, just all over. Israel is being attacked by people with rifles, grenades, firebombs, all intent on murdering Israelis. And yet Jewish people (and Israeli Arabs) are being attacked for daring to refuse to die.

I guess good Jews should get in cattle cars, like the good old days so many here apparently want us to return to.

No country in the world would permit a murderous mob to breach it border.

The only bright spot have been the Pallywood rough cuts.

So far, we've had corpses come to life after the media took their pictures and a "crippled" protestor on crutches suddenly be healed when tear gas cloud went towards him, miraculously abandoning his crutches to sprint across a field.

All we need is the same old lady who used to show up every time a Hamas missile battery was hit and cry that it was her house that the evil Zionist blew up. You would think they would at least vary the actors.

The international media is obsessed with Israel, Jews and Palestinians.

This book (link below) does an excellent job describing the effects of the obsessive media focus and explaining why it's happening.

Free from what, there is no way Israel is going to have a open border with a state controlled by a terrorist organization.

And Gaza shares a long border with Eygpt....why isn't that open?
It's not because the Egyptians love Israelis...it's because Hamas has proven to be a very bad and dangerous neighbor who exports violence & bombings.
