During a televised White House meeting that included the attorney general, President Donald Trump called on the Justice Department to investigate Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf for “obstruction of justice” after she alerted residents to impending ICE raids earlier this year.

“That whole operation that took a long time to put together — I mean you talk about obstruction of justice, I would recommend that you look into obstruction of justice for the mayor of Oakland, California,” the president said, directing his comments at Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

isn't Trump directing the Attorney General to investigate a specific person and charge them with a specific crime itself obstruction of justice?

work for him. And he did it televised. damn, our country is in trouble.

5. "The DOJ does not work for him". Actually it is under the purview of the executive branch.

And the Constitution specifically provides that:

The President ... shall take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed".

This does not mean using the executive branch to, say, extract revenge on someone or some specific company couldn't
be found to be abuse of power and be impeachable.
