Candidate's 'deportation bus' breaks down at the start of the tour
Source: The Hill
The so-called "deportation bus" that a Republican gubernatorial candidate in Georgia is taking across the state broke down on Thursday, after water got into the fuel tank.
Georgia state Sen. Michael Williams' bus broke down on the side of Interstate 75 in Calhoun, Ga., but has since been repaired and is continuing its tour across the state's "dangerous sanctuary cities."
Seth Weathers, a spokesman for Williams' campaign, said that "a closer watch will be kept on the bus while making stops."
"Somehow, water managed to enter the fuel tank which caused the issue," he said. "We certainly would not blame this on ANTIFA or others who are openly plotting to damage or destroy the bus. We know the left would never stoop to such a pathetic low."

(19,201 posts)if they did it themselves, just to get more press coverage for their stupid little stunt. It worked! Now he gets to pontificate about the treacherous 'Libruls' and how they're trying to ruin his patriotic bus trip.

(7,528 posts)With water I believe the tank needs to be drained and allowed to dry.
Sugar destroys the tank and the intricate workings of the engine. It's basically debris.
For the record: DO NOT sabotage vehicles. I am not saying this even jokingly in a "wink-nudge" way. If you sabotage a car you might get charged with a crime and you probably deserve it.

Four drivers stopped to help. Every single one of them was a recent immigrant. The state troopers zoomed by, but these newcomers were willing to take time to help someone they didn't know.
Too bad this candidate doesn't understand how much newcomers bring to our country-- but then Williams wouldn't recognize "kindness" and "compassion" as virtues.

(50,557 posts)To fix Michael Williams' little red wagon, a few commonly available components are needed.
1 x male spade lug
1 x ring lug
1 x 50-ohm, 2-watt resistor
1 roll of cloth electrical tape
A resistor has two wires coming out of it. Solder a spade lug to each one. Crawl under Williams' bus and find the gas tank. There is a wire coming out the top of it. Pull it off. Connect the spade lug to the wire. Find a bolt or screw the ring lug will fit, remove it, stick the screw through the ring lug and put it back in the hole. Then wrap electrical tape around it and smear some dirt on the tape so it looks like it's been in there a while.
What you have done: GM gas gauges in buses as old as his use a "resistive sender" that measures zero ohms when the gas tank is empty and 90 ohms when it's full. As the gas gets lower, so does the resistance. My modification will make the gas gauge read half a tank even after the bus runs out of fuel.

(49,001 posts)Make a more complex device, but still a simple circuit, with a thermal variable resistance so that on cool mornings it will show half a tank when empty and on hot afternoons will show empty when 3/4 full.
