On Thursday morning, President Trump tweeted that former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper “has now admitted that there was Spying in my campaign.”

“Large dollars were paid to the Spy, far beyond normal,” Trump wrote. “Starting to look like one of the biggest political scandals in U.S. history. SPYGATE – a terrible thing!”

Trump’s tweet is a blatant lie. Clapper has not admitted anything of the sort. In fact, he has repeatedly said the opposite.

Consider what Clapper said on The View this Tuesday.

“So I ask you, was the FBI spying on Trump’s campaign?” host Joy Behar asked Clapper.

The media should simply report on Trump as follows:

"In other news today, President Trump again failed to complete a single day in office without uttering additional untruths throughout the day. This marks the 535th consecutive day of fabrications and lies from the Oval Office...."

Does anyone remember the Ted Koppel / ABC News show "Nightline"?
Does anyone remember when it started? (1979-1980-ish)

What was their initial schtick on Nightline? It was the Iranian Hostage Crisis...and a daily countdown of how many days they had been in that embassy...as the days rolled on, the whole thing became like water dripping on rocks...it made an indelible impression.

Treat Trump's non-stop lying as a true second American Hostage crisis already...

once everyone catches on, the tactic will no longer hold water, AND

because of the plethora of problems his policies are creating and his delight at being such a stable lying genius, he now must lie about EVERYTHING, and this erodes any remaining stature.
