The largest federal employee union sues Trump administration over time restrictions on union activity

The American Federation of Government Employees on Thursday took the Trump administration to court to block a new executive order that severely restricts the time employees can spend on union activity, claiming it violates the First Amendment guarantee of the right to freedom of association and oversteps the president’s constitutional authority.
The restriction on what is known as “official time” — which will ultimately have to be bargained through collective bargaining contracts at federal agencies — was one of three orders the president signed late Friday before the Memorial Day weekend to roll back long-held civil service protections for federal employees.

You put your finger on the principal problem: most Americans don't care. The pukes have done a great job of hiding the reasons people's lives keep getting shittier + displacing the blame onto e.g. immigrants. Acquaintances of mine literally have no clue about the policies pukes have forced on the nation and don't recognize those policies as tied to what goes on in their lives.
For this country to work the founders recognized that an informed populace was essential. We have the opposite with heavily propagandized ignoramuses who however have opinions and vote. I have run into many of this type while living recently in AZ--catastrophically ignorant white racists, smug and arrogant, certain that "the Mexicans" and "the blacks" are to blame for their woes and that dump is their savior.
The problem for the pukes is that now that they have looted the treasury with the tax scam, and already cut assistance to the poor, to feed the insatiable appetite of their donors they are going to have to go after things like Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid that impact the middle class, white dump voter. That's the last big tranche of money for them to go after and perhaps now people will wake up.
