Peter Navarro says 'there's a special place in hell' for Justin Trudeau
Source: CNN
Peter Navarro, a trade adviser to President Donald Trump, escalated the White House's rebuke of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, calling him weak and dishonest on Sunday.
"There's a special place in hell for any foreign leader that engages in bad faith diplomacy with President Donald J. Trump and then tries to stab him in the back on the way out the door," Navarro said on "Fox News Sunday."
He continued, "And that's what bad faith Justin Trudeau did with that stunt press conference. That's what weak, dishonest Justin Trudeau did, and that comes right from Air Force One."
Navarro's comments added to the White House's continued criticism of Trudeau, who said after Trump left the G7 summit that Canada would impose retaliatory measures to answer Trump's tariffs and warned that Canada would not be "pushed around."

(13,286 posts)From the Canadian news source, The Star:
It was entirely unclear what Trudeau had done to spark this kind of fury, until Kudlow explained: Trump is attacking Trudeau because he is trying to show Kim that he is tough.
Trudeaus Saturday criticism of Trumps trade policy, Kudlow said on CNN, had made Trump look weak just before the president departed for his talks with Kim. And Trump, Kudlow said, is not going to permit any show of weakness on a trip to negotiate with North Korea.
Kim must not see American weakness. Its that short, Kudlow said.
This is an historic event. Good things, wonderful things could come out of it. Now, POTUS (president of the United States) is not gonna let a Canadian prime minister push him around, push him, POTUS, around, President Trump, on the eve of this, Kudlow said.
* * *
Got a news flash for you, Mr. Kudlow -- not only Kim but the entire world has Donny Two Scoops' number. They know he's someone who talks tough when safe within the confines of the WH, Air Force One, or Mar-A-Lago, but face-to-face he's a pussy, especially with men (never women) he feels inferior to, i.e., authoritarian strong men. All Kim has to do if flatter Trump and compliment him on his hair and the two will be besties forever. Kim's going to walk away with everything he wants (actually, once a photo is taken of the two of them, he will have achieved 90% of his goal) and Trump will get nothing, even though we already brag about how he got everything and where's my Nobel Prize?
I wonder why Trump is so afraid to have his staff and Bolton and other advisors in the room when he first meets Kim? Is he afraid Kim's handshake is as strong as Macron's, and will leave another indent in his hand? Actually, I think that's why Trump is so pissed; in the battle of the aggressive handshake -- which Shitler views as a proof of his dominance -- he clearly lost when it came to Macron. And then there's the matter of Merkle posting the pic of Trump sitting cross-armed while the adults try to explain how the world works to him (which his supports spin as a show of strength and not petulance). That must be really eating away at his fragile ego.
Kudlow's last sentence sounds like it could have come right out of IQ45's mouth.

(67,782 posts)It's customary for the leader of the host country to hold a press conference at the end of a G-7 meeting. He wasn't being dishonest, and certainly wasn't weak. The weak one was the coward who couldn't face the wrap up of the meeting.
So, trump showed up hours late, slept through the Saturday breakfast, then snuck out early. And he has the shriveled up balls to criticize the host?
All the leaders at that meeting had the same impression of trump, a rude, boorish attempted bully. But none of them are going to allow him to bully them.
