The five pieces of crap know they have no standing so they endure to the lawyerly exercising of dicing words. Really to me, they sound like a bunch of cowards.

This court has been illegitimate since -Roberts- became a member.

He was appointed by Bush the Lesser, who himself was appointed by the Supreme Court...

Around and around it goes...

Either that, or they are trying to ensure that Dems are never in the majority again.

...that is why the uber-partisan Republicans were put on the SCOTUS. This is why it was so important to the Rethuglican cause to put George W. Bush* in the White House. This is why Comrade Turtle McConnell VIOLATED constitutional law and would not allow Merrick Garland to even have a shot for confirmation in the Senate. The true Rethuglican power structure --No, not the GOP Congresspersons, the high-dollar billionaire donors-- know that as America becomes more diverse and their "base" becomes older, maintaining their holds on power takes extraordinary actions. Case in point: The Citizens United decision, which basically neutered "one person, one vote." "Our" American government is trying to make it as hard as possible for average citizens to control the destiny and direction of our Country.

11. District 25

My district is stretched from just south of Ft. Worth to south of Austin, a distance of over 190 miles. Many of the Democratic voters in Austin are packed into a district with lots of rural red voters and those suburban districts near Ft. Worth, which is part of Tarrant County, one of the reddest districts in the country. My rep, Roger Williams, is a car dealer whose major legislation revolves around anything that benefits car dealers specifically. He refuses to meet with anyone but his Republican donors and has stated publicly that he represents only the Republicans in his district. We have a good candidate, Julie Oliver, running against him, but she is a first-time candidate who will have a tough time overcoming extreme gerrymandering and Republican dollars.

One of the other commenters noted that Republicans were ignoring that they would not always be in power. But that is exactly what they are planning—by attacking voting rights, continued fear mongering, and probably manipulating votes—either with the help of a foreign government or through Republicans who control state records and voting counts. Karl Rove’s REDMAP was meant to ensure that Democrats could never again be elected to major office—and they now have a Supreme Court to help them. I read something recently that Justice Roberts was concerned about the Court being seen as partisan. They are partisan, and we need to somehow start a campaign to let him and the other justices know that a huge numer of people in this country view this Court as being a Republican Court. Ideas?

...that is by design. Justice Roberts is only concerned about it appearing to be so.

you made your decision now you go and enforce it. And they
can do it on their budget of $1 annually. An institution that got
its expanded powers from declaring that it could, made up of
lifetime, unelected members really has no place in a democratic
governance.

Now gerrymandering will be legitimized for another few decades at minimum.
