A new poll paid for by the Family Research Council, a pro-life group, indicates pro-life Missouri Senate candidate Todd Akin now leads pro-abortion Sen. Clair McCaskill in the race despite the controversial comments he made about abortion and rape.
The pro-life group says the poll is evidence that Akin should not drop out of the race and that calls for him to do so were premature.
The new survey conducted by Wenzel Strategies of likely Missouri general election voters shows that Senate candidate Todd Akin has regained his lead over Senator Claire McCaskill by a 45% to 42% margin, with 13% undecided. It also shows Akin leading by 10 points among independent voters.

Consider the source and I hope they're wrong. However, If Akin wins, we need to dig up Missouri and place it south of Louisiana.

(184 posts)Of course it's incredibly biased and has an agenda. But put it against the ("mainstream" Republican) Rasmussen poll that shows Akin trailing McCaskill by double digits. One right wing poll done by people who want him in the race show him leading and the other Republican poll done by people who want him out of the race show him trailing.
Gee, I am losing my faith in Repulican polls.

(7,006 posts)SO this has got to be a lie.....
Also, on all polls:
Who were included in the sample?
What was the margin of error?
How were the questions structured?
Was it a random sample?....This one is answered based on who paid for the poll
So this poll is worth....

(2,124 posts)The southern part will vote for Akin regardless of what he says. The upper half of the state is where the Dems get their votes. In the past the Repukers have been getting enough out of the northern half to win many elections but the folks in the upper half care deeply about how the nation looks at the state. I can't imagine any circumstance whereby the voters there vote to become a laughingstock and send somebody to Washington who is embarrassing.
