In an Ohio House district that President Trump won by 11 percentage points in 2016, Republican Troy Balderson claimed a razor-thin victory over Democrat Danny OConnor, although the Associated Press said the race is too close to call.
The closely watched Republican gubernatorial primary in Kansas also was headed to a photo finish with Kris Kobach, the states controversial secretary of state, running neck and neck against Gov. Jeff Colyer.
The provisional and absentee ballots could push the margin below 0.5%, which would trigger an automatic recount under Ohio law.
Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted reported late Tuesday night that according to unofficial results, Balderson led Mr. OConnor by 1,754 votes. Husted added there are 3,435 provisional ballots and 5,048 absentee ballots outstanding. State law forbids counting of those ballots until Aug. 18.

(2,598 posts)perhaps that's because they have no expectations of a skew from the absentees -- while provisionals typically skew heavily Democratic

(7,142 posts)but I worked there a lot. A brother and sister from West Virginia founded the town, so the residents there told me.
I think it was a joke. The people there are like a tribe, I know they all owned Dodge pick up trucks. I can envision that entire town voting Trump.

(27,450 posts)about some items, the enabling traitor well enable a fucking traitor too continue to commit crimes against the US Constitution, so in essence he also is a fucking accomplice to treason.
They will continue his march to support and undercut Social Security and Medicare by gutting and cutting staff, just like they are trying to do with the Postal System. Then he and all of them in that right wing party of a gerrymandered district will continue to whine , that when they go down to the Social Security Administration or postal system that they have to wait in lines, etc....... that they "all" pay into, and that government is the problem, when he and them approved to fuck themselves ...........and then finally this asshole is well an asshole, because he is fucking racist right along with the traitor, after all that tax money that he is suppose to represent that should go to Ohio infrastructure, he will instead be enabling the traitor and his racism diverted money to build a wall along the border.
The only reason why the asshole Balderson leads the race, is in fact, is that the district is gerrymandered, so in essence he really is cheating asshole, like all republicans .....................and they will continue to drink the kool aid..................

(6,881 posts)This is a special election to replace an exiting incumbent, right? So whoever wins will face an opponent from the other party in November?
