Trump hits New York Times for report implying White House counsel is a 'rat'
Source: The Hill
President Trump early Sunday attacked the failing New York Times for a report that he said implied White House Counsel Don McGahn must be a John Dean type RAT.
The failing @nytimes wrote a Fake piece today implying that because White House Councel Don McGahn was giving hours of testimony to the Special Councel, he must be a John Dean type 'RAT.' But I allowed him and all others to testify - I didnt have to. I have nothing to hide......, Trump tweeted. "....and have demanded transparency so that this Rigged and Disgusting Witch Hunt can come to a close. So many lives have been ruined over nothing - McCarthyism at its WORST! Yet Mueller & his gang of Dems refuse to look at the real crimes on the other side - Media is even worse! "

(10,125 posts)When Nixon uttered those words about Watergate, our protests turned to streaking.
Going after the national security folks clearances this week reminded many of Nixon's enemies list.
It's getting more like Watergate every day except for one key thing:
The big difference is unlike 1974, most of the GOP of today seems complicit with Trump's unethical, abusive, racist, misogynistic and/or criminal behavior.

(10,125 posts)If we want to bring the GOP around, protests like the above resulting in a rotten November might help

(2,187 posts)It's the same lawyer as Rinse Penis and Steve Bannon. That lawyer couldn't have taken on McGahn as a client when Priebus already retained him after he flipped. The proof is in the lawyer ! It's so obvious. Why doesn't Spanky realize this?!

Like HRC working with the deep state and Russia to rig the elections?
Trump is a corned rat.
BTW who calls people rats? Oh, that would be the mob.

(6,881 posts)So why doesn't he do it? Either DOJ won't for lack of evidence or, if they did, Trump knows he would wind up looking like an even bigger fool. The talking point value of the lie is worth more than finding the truth.

(9,287 posts)The hall of tweets. I think the President calling someone a rat will be right in there. Yes we are witnessing history and I didnt say it was good history.
Degradation of our public life is occurring at light speed due to this orange carbuncle. Everything the Con touches dies and unfortunately that is the dignity of the office of POTUS.
I never thought we would match Ws inarticulate speech but Ws public utterances seems like Shakespeare to me now (albeit like the play Henry VIII which is very bad Shakespeare)

(5,914 posts)The audience would have booed it off the stage as being too lowbrow and ridiculous.Shakespeare would probably have never worked in that town again.

(2,569 posts)There is MacBeth. Though, to be sure, the Thane of Cawdor and King thereafter had a much better way with words than this feculant carbuncle.
Remember "MacBird" in the Sixties?

(6,555 posts)and needs to start acting like one. No more pointing fingers "at the other side". He wanted the power, he got the power, he is in charge and needs to start doing his job. He will be held responsible for every action and every lack of action he is involved in. Wonder if he still thinks it was good idea to have run for president?
