Hayden: Relationship between Trump, national security community 'dangerously close to being permanently broken'

BY MEGAN KELLER - 08/19/18 09:49 AM EDT

Former CIA Director Michael Hayden said Sunday that he thinks the relationship between the national security community and President Trump is on the edge of shattering.

"It's dangerously close to being permanently broken, it is badly injured right now," Hayden told CNN. Hayden said that it's been increasingly hard for the intelligence community to keep itself apolitical when the administration behaves as it does.

"If we're back in our old agencies, we're trying to say to our workforce: 'We have nothing to do with what John Brennan says on TV and we have nothing to do with what the president has done in response,'" Hayden said, "'We've got our basic lane, we've got to be blocking and tackling.'"

"But that has to be harder and harder each day as the administration takes these kinds of actions," Hayden continued.

tRump and his cabal are a greater risk to national security than immigrants crossing the border "illegally". We have a president who daily endangers the security of this nation. Why can we not do something to protect ourselves from this homegrown terrorist? Oh, yeah. That's right. The Republicans in congress are supporting his agenda.

7. The Roman Empire fell from within.......

Due to inner turmoil, constant power grabs, greed, not having the means to maintain its borders.

The same thing is happening to the United States after 242 years. The Roman Empire lasted close to 1,000 years, finally falling in the early 6th century.

Trump thinks he is Caesar. The Congress powerless and UNWILLING to keep him from grabbing more power, setting us up to be conquered by the Barbarian hordes..

Be aware, people. We have the power to save this country. Truth IS truth.

We can only hope that will reform some of the issues the national security community has had with Democratic presidents.
