Bolton open to privatizing military operations in Afghanistan

Source: The Hill

BY MICHAEL BURKE - 08/19/18 10:10 AM EDT

White House national security adviser John Bolton on Sunday said he’s open to privatizing military operations in Afghanistan following reports last week that President Trump is considering the option.

When asked about the idea on ABC’s “This Week with George Stephanopoulos,” Bolton said “there are always a lot of discussions.”

“I’m always open to new ideas,” he said. “But I'm not going to comment on what the thinking is. That'll ultimately be the president's decision.”

Fearful of repeating the foreign policy mistakes of the George W. Bush and Obama administrations, top Trump aides Jared Kushner and Stephen K. Bannon have recently turned to Erik Prince and Stephen Feinberg for help. According to a report in the New York Times, Prince, the founder of Blackwater, and Feinberg, the CEO of the holding company that owns DynCorp, are championing private military alternatives to a recommitment of uniformed personnel in Afghanistan.

The purpose of the act is to limit the powers of the federal government in using federal military personnel to enforce domestic policies within the United States.

Kill 'em all, let God sort it out. Merc's don't have to abide by any military code of conduct.

They can go out and kill all the brown rag heads they can find and go home and mount the heads of their kills in their den as if they were big game.

Like they did in Iraq ten or fifteen years ago. (Except for the wall trophies. I made that up.)

When they're done legally murdering people, the state doesn't have to pay for lifelong education or health care benefits. We taxpayers won't have to foot the bill for all those lavish Trump-like palatial VA Centers where veterans get free cosmetic surgery and 24/7 care and country clubs and limousine ambulances.

And colorful cocktails with as many umbrellas as they want! And two girls for every boy.

the wars in the ME, and wants to make even more. I bet the gop are all jumping onboard, rubbing their hands in expectation of filling their bank accounts from private wars. Erik Prince belongs in prison, not in charge of his own private army, funded by taxpayers. Bolton said the idea of revoking security clearances was suggested by RAND Paul. Right after he visited the Kremlin, delivering tRump's love note to Vlad.

from our huge threat in the middle east, Iraq. A POS if ever I studied one. Especially when he was part of the cheney-bush debacle in Iraq where cheney made millions and 'black water' mercenaries were walking off with duffle bags full of money. A conservative estimate was close to a billion dollars went missing during that "war". So much went to so few, meanwhile 5000 soldiers never came home over 20,000 were pushed into our VA system and over 1,000,000,000 Iraqi civilians, men, women and children killed. No figure on the wounded. And now this POS bolton got his hands on that war again.

That is what privatization does. We can't afford to pay government contractors the amount we pay them. We pay them sickening amounts to sell and train arms to countries that turn around and kill Americans. When is the shit show going to stop?
