Mulvaney on canceled military parade: It wasn't just the money

Source: Politico

By REBECCA MORIN 08/19/2018 10:49 AM EDT

Office of Management and Budget director Mick Mulvaney said he believes President Donald Trump’s plans for a military parade were canceled for other reasons besides the cost of the event, but would not specify other “contributing factors.”

During an interview on “Fox News Sunday,” Mulvaney said he was not in the room when the decision was made to cancel the parade, as he said he would have been had the cancelation been done “purely for fiscal reasons.”

“If the parade had been canceled purely for fiscal reasons, I imagine I would have been in the room when that was made, and I wasn’t,” he said. “So my guess is there were other contributing factors.”

Trump on Friday blamed local politicians, such as Washington Mayor Muriel Bowser, for the parade’s cancelation, saying they “wanted a number so ridiculously high” that he was forced to hold off on the event.

Had it not been cancelled, I would have simultaneously been laughing my ass off at the rediculous spectacle of Herr Drumpfenfuherer trying to act commanding & regal, and shitting my pants in rage at the thought of all the good and necessary things the $$$ could have been used for instead.

So, yeah. For the sake of my pants, the people around me, and my wash machine, I’m glad it was cancelled.

I suspect attempts at either - without a deliberate mental focus - would leave me speechless, with a bit of drool dribbling out of an open, stuttering mouth.

Lucky we only have to type them.

The Media and now, Mulvany are lying that Trump cancelled the Parade. The Pentagon did. I do not think they ever wanted one. Such an enormous waste of money we do not have.

push some toy tanks and fly some toy fighter through the Oval Office. Heck, he can have the whole cabinet participate in place of having a meeting where they smooch his honey.

Plus they can all make realistic sounds with their mouths

Pretty damn simple.

Republicans can just go back to squandering our tax money on luxury golf goof offs for republican billionaires.

The same thing recently happened in Argentina, where Trump's old buddy is wrecking the economy and throwing opponents in jail - but demands yooge military parades.

Basta.

a trial walk last week revealed that his bone spurs make that impossible. So, he has cancelled this year's parade, scheduled surgery to correct his feet, and will march in the parade scheduled for next year.
