A Democratic senator has canceled her meeting with Brett Kavanaugh after President Donald Trump's longtime attorney pleaded guilty to eight felonies.

Sen. Mazie Hirono (D-HI) expressed concern over attorney Michael Cohen implicating the president in a scheme to pay off two mistresses in the weeks ahead of the 2016 election, which Trump's lawyer admitted in court was a violation of campaign finance law.


"I have cancelled my meeting with Judge Kavanaugh," Hirono said. (The president), who is an unindicted co-conspirator in a criminal matter, does not deserve the courtesy of a meeting with his nominee--purposely selected to protect, as we say in Hawaii, his own okole."

Hirono serves on the Senate Judiciary Committee.

These were stolen seats. It wouldn't be as stolen if they had held hearings on Merrick Garland and the GOP had voted him down. That would be legitimate use of power, it is their choice. But they wouldn't man-up and face the music for their actions.
