Trump administration to consider South Carolina proposal to defund Planned Parenthood

Source: The Hill

BY JESSIE HELLMANN - 09/07/18 12:12 PM EDT

The Trump administration is considering a proposal submitted by South Carolina that would cut abortion providers from the state’s Medicaid program.

South Carolina is now the third state to make such a request, the latest move in the GOP’s fight to defund Planned Parenthood in the Trump era.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is already reviewing similar proposals from Texas and Tennessee.

The South Carolina proposal, called “Transitioning to Preconception Care,” would prohibit Medicaid beneficiaries from using their benefits at facilities that offer abortions. The administration will decide whether to approve the request following a public comment period that began Friday and ends Oct. 7.

I don't see their position as valid or having merit or something I should respect. I don't see them as good people who simply hold a different opinion.

I see them as a danger. I see them as a threat to the lives and freedom of women everywhere. That's it. That's all I see.

Seriously, that's chilling.

South Carolina - there are those in your government, who are currently making laws and policy in your name, who apparently think that women - your sisters and your daughters - have no value to society other than as a Baby-Making Machine.

Kids that weren't wanted, could be unloved, neglected, abused, sold, killed. How many millions are they going to increase the state budget to pay for those children?

(And yes, that would be bad enough, but...)

For many woman PP is how they can afford mammograms and pap smears.

First the GOP takes away your affordable insurance, then they take away your affordable alternative for health care for your female body parts.

THIS IS A WAR ON WOMEN!!
