Kent State approves 2nd Amendment rally with no open carry

Source: Associated Press

Updated 9:39 am CDT, Saturday, September 15, 2018

KENT, Ohio (AP) — Kent State University says it will allow a rally in support of Second Amendment gun rights to be held on campus as long as no one brings a gun to the event.

The northeast Ohio school last month told recent graduate Kaitlin Bennett to stop advertising an open-carry rally because she lacked permission and was no longer a student.

Kent State officials on Friday approved a no-gun rally scheduled for Sept. 29 that's being sponsored by a conservative student organization called Liberty Hangout.

Bennett attracted attention this spring when she posted a photo on social media of her carrying a rifle on campus.

I guarantee I could take it away from her before she could do anything about it.

But when I see people open carrying, it's more fun just to point and laugh at them.

They really don't have much clue how to handle their shiny, cold steel shootin' irons. Saw a guy open carrying a handgun in Lowes of all places. A home improvement store in BF North Carolina isn't known for it's stick up guys or terrorists. As he's distractedly perusing whatever he was perusing, I thought I could walk up behind him and take his gun from its holster before he knew what the hell was going on. Not secured in the holster. Just sitting there. The moron probably had one in the pipe.

If anything States have been relaxing second amendment related laws around open carry, and stand your ground laws. Jeepers, they can even get plans to make their own with a 3D printer today. In this picture it blatantly shows how legal and easy it is to display such a monstrous weapon in public. And these rights have not been whittled away, even as guns are becoming more deadly, more efficient, more addons to make them more lethal.

for all of us who lived through Kent State in 1970 that our dear grandchildren have to be exposed to this sickening brainwashing while they are in college or any place else.

It was pretty local to me, about 60 miles away, I lived near Oberlin.

My high school girl friend ended up going there. The previous year's student council president went there, and was indicted by the Ohio grand jury even though he wasn't on campus that day.
