UPDATE: Creator of 3D-printed gun, facing sex assault charge, now in Taiwan, police say

Source: Austin American-Statesman

Austin police are working with international authorities to bring Cody Wilson, an Austin man at the center of a debate about 3D-printed guns, back to the country from Taiwan to face a sexual assault charge filed in Travis County on Wednesday.

Wilson’s last known location was the Taiwanese capital of Taipei, Austin police Cmdr. Troy Officer said.

Wilson missed a scheduled flight back to the United States and is thought to have left the country after a friend of the 16-year-old sexual assault victim told him that police were investigating him, Officer said.

Police do not know why Wilson went to Taiwan, only that he frequently travels there for business, Officer said.

Inquiring minds want to know...

For that matter, I have no idea if Taiwan even has such an agreement. I would guess yes, but that's just a guess.

But with Taiwan losing friends and allies due to Chinese pressure, they probably would not want to incur the wrath of il douche because he might dump them as an ally

If his assets are frozen here, than Taiwan doesn't need him and he'll be home soon. If on the other hand, he knew he was about to be charged and he transferred a lot of money there, they may be more sympathetic to his flight and find a use for him in computer software development.

I think that's how the world turns.

Trump will eventually pardon you. Oh wait, these are state charges. bullocks.

Keep running. You know the feds aren't looking for you. Taiwan isn't the best place in the far east for underage sex anyway.
