Ads push Manchin and Heitkamp to vote for Kavanaugh

The conservative Judicial Crisis Network is pressuring at-risk Democrats Joe Manchin and Heidi Heitkamp to confirm Brett kavanaugh in a new ad buy, making one final push on behalf of the Supreme Court nominee.

The group will spend $400,000 this week on pushing Manchin (D-W.Va.) and Heitkamp (D-N.D.) to support President Donald Trump's high court pick, following his hearing on an alleged sexual assault. The two moderate senators are the only undecided Democrats, and both are up for reelection next month. Kavanaugh remains short of 50 votes.

The new ads use footage of Kavanaugh calling the confirmation process "search and destroy" at his confirmation hearing. A narrator says voters will "never forget" how Heitkamp and Manchin vote and accuses liberals of trying to "ruin a good man with smears."

Though the ACLU announced a $1 million buy pressuring Manchin and five GOP senators to oppose Kavanaugh on Monday, JCN has been the biggest spender in the Supreme Court ad wars. The group has spent about $12 million thus far to confirm Kavanaugh, and also spent millions on Justice Neil Gorsuch. Heitkamp and Manchin both supported Gorsuch.

6. Lets forget for a moment the allegations against kavanaugh

His performance at the hearing, after Dr Ford's, should be enough to disqualify him, and I don't care about his hysteria or his dramatic acting, I care about what he said, his threats, and that is where some of the discussion should be because from what he said, he is going for revenge and he promised right then that he will be pushing the republican agenda and that he will not be an impartial judge.

And let us not forget that he has lied, now in two separate hearings, to congress, the senate and the country.

here are just the limbaugh stations. limbaugh has been explaining dr ford is a trained left wing operative lying about kavanaugh

the local blowhards on those stations follow his lead. if they all do 1500 hrs/day, at $1000 for a 1 hr radio infomercial those stations are worth $75,000/week. x11 that's $850,000/week FREE

and artificial intelligence makes it easy and cheap now to transcribe talk shows and list advertisers so they can be contacted - most are soft supporters. and that's something people can do from anywhere to go on the offensive

8. Heitkamp is done; polling 41 to opp 51

If Kavanaugh or his replacement have enough votes, she needs to vote Yes to get Trump voters. But I think she is done.

9. She wont get a single Trump vote by voting yes for this guy

in fact she will probably lose votes if she votes to confirm this guy. She was one of the senators who called for Franken to resign so she would look like a complete hypocrite if she votes yes on this guy. Sheis probably going to lose regardless so she might as well do the right thing and vote no.

But Heitkamp only won by 50.2 to 49.3 in 2012!

Thus roughly speaking, 13% of voters are Trumpists who previously voted for Heitkamp! These crossover voters won't even consider voting for Heitkamp if she doesn't vote for a conservative SC Justice.

As I said, if her vote isn't decisive, she needs to vote for Kavanaugh or his conservative replacement. It's just smart politics.

Voting for a conservative justice gives her a small chance to pull it off. Voting against him and she might as well not bother campaigning.

11. Voting for for this guy will totally destroys any small chance

she might have. Most people already disapprove of Kavanaugh at least nationally I would suspect there are at least some moderate republicans and right leaning independents who oppose this guy too. She ran as Democrat and is running as a Democratic candidate. If she votes yes for this guy she is going to upset her Democratic supporters particularly women in the me too era. If she cannot hold her base together she might as well concede now.
